R.J.D. Memorial Hardwood State Forest, managed by Minnesota DNR Forestry, includes this hike-in horse campground near Reno in the bluff country above the Mississippi River. Access is on foot only. Amenities are minimal: campfires are permitted and pets are welcome, but no water hookups or other facilities are listed. Campers who want a developed alternative can check Richard J Dorer Memorial State Forest Reno Unit Dispersed Camping, roughly a mile north, which draws visitors to the same forest unit.
