Magnolia City Campground

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Magnolia City Campground sits inside a small town park in Magnolia, Minnesota, managed by the municipality and open from early April through late September. The layout runs along a row of open, sun-exposed sites, with one exception: as Art S. notes, one site "is nestled in some trees." The rest face open sky through the evening hours. It's a straightforward stop, not a destination campground.

Full hookups, including electric, water, and sewer, are available, along with a restroom building with showers near the picnic pavilion. Campers with longer rigs should note that power boxes serve multiple sites from shared posts, so a cord extension may be necessary if nearby spots are occupied. Water hookups are spaced out as well, and some visitors have found their hoses don't quite reach from the end sites. A playground on the grounds has drawn consistent praise from families. Nightly rates have ranged from $15 to $20, making it one of the more affordable full-hookup stops in the area.

The campground sits just off I-90, and signs from the highway lead directly to it. Nearby alternatives include River Road Campground to the west and Adrian City Park to the east. Reservations are available, though the site has historically operated on a first-come, first-served honor-pay system for overnight travelers passing through. If you're heading across southern Minnesota and need a reliable overnight with full hookups at a low price, this town park covers the basics.

A budget-friendly overnight stop with full hookups for $15-20, featuring an honor system and playground that kids love. Some spacing issues with utilities, but excellent value for I-90 travelers.

Convenient to I90

Very basic sites. Town park. Dated and feels strange when no one else if here. But, $20 a night for full hook ups can’t be beat.

Small town park

This is a nice campground in a small farm town. The sites are lined up next to each other. One is not and is nestled in some trees. The rest have the sun into the evening. There’s a restroom with showers by the picnic pavilion. The playground was nice for the kids. I think it’s connected to the school. We walked the length of town and it was about a mile round trip. For $15 this is a great place to stop while driving I90.

Great overnight spot

Was picking up my rv from south Dakota after getting repairs from a previous trip. So pulled a 2 and half day 1700 mile trip and ended upon this small gem of a campground that was open with full hookups on October 30th. ( October 31st is their season ending date on website) anyways pulled up about 8 at night and 1 other 5th wheel was there. Very quiet. It was dark the spots seemed alittle unorganized layout. But didn't get to much attention to it as I was stopping for the evening basically to just sleep. I did notice that the power boxes are set up is only few spots with multiple power boxes on the post. So you could need a power cord extention. If all spots by the power boxes are taken up. But it was a great overnight spot. I would like to check it out in season. Couldn't pass it up for full hook ups on October 30th. And the price is only $15.00

Quiet place to rest

Great place right off of 90. Follow the gps location on the app. Don’t use the address off of the city’s web site. Plus there are signs for camping that will lead you right to it. It’s a first come place with no reservations and you pay on the honor system when you pull in. But full hook ups and easy back in parking. Great place for a over night!

Just what we needed

We just needed a place to stay for the night. The playground was rated “amazing” by our kids. The electrical and water are a little spaced out. We took the end spot and count quite reach our two water hoses. There two long-term campers who were hooked up to the water spigot closest to us. The first-come, first-served / self-pay system other great for us. We pulled in at 7:00 pm and left at 8 am.
