Eagle Nest Park

County-managed Eagle Nest Park sits somewhat hidden from main roads, requiring first-time visitors to navigate carefully to locate the entrance. The campground provides electric hookups for RVs alongside walk-in tent sites positioned in a more secluded setting away from the main access areas.

Campers report consistently quiet evenings, even during holiday weekends when larger groups gather for celebrations before departing early. The park maintains clean facilities including restrooms, showers, and trash service, with drinking water and firewood available on-site. Hiking opportunities extend throughout the surrounding area, and pets are welcome throughout the campground. For those seeking additional options, St. James Municipal offers a different municipal camping experience.

Small and tucked back

Was a little difficult to find the first time but when we found it I loved it. Back in kinda private. Friendly people group came to celebrate July 4th but respectfully all left early and the nights were quiet. Lots of adventure hiking and wonderfully clean.
