Perfect

This has been a perfect stay. Nikki at the front was amazing and you could immediately tell this was going to be awesome. Spacious campsite, firewood available, incredible views and rentable canoes. I wish we were staying longer! Mosquitoes a little thicker than directly on the lake but WAY better than the lower falls. One of our favorite places we’ve been!

Rustic @ Rivermouth

We have stayed here many times, but on the rustic side (same entrance as modern). Beautiful campground, clean, with incredible views. Vault style outhouse, you may also use the showers at the modern campground via a trail that connects the 2. Kayak rentals on site. Friendly staff. Quiet get away.

Near: Paradise, MI with gas, groceries and souvenirs. Whitefish Point Museum. Whitefish Point Senic Byway- nice drive with awesome indigenous history. ~1hr from Sue St Marie. 25mins from the actual Tahquamenon falls.

Rivermouth Pines

We stayed in the Pines campground (not the Modern campground). This has the same entrance as the Modern campground but is a road to the left that follows the river bank. It is rustic campground and no generators are allowed. (You can walk to the Modern campground to use the showers in about 7-10 minutes). The sites are located under tall Pines. The view of the river was beautiful.

Rustic campground

We’ve been coming here for years and it’s always been a great time. We typically get sites on the rustic side along the river. There are some beautiful sunrises. There’s a nice trail right before the organizational campsite that takes you along the river. It has a little bit of a beach and a bench. The rustic side is typically pretty quiet and hours are respected. The modern side looks like the sites are a bit crowded.

Amazing spot!

We took spots R101 and R102 at Tahquamenon Falls Rivermouth Pines

Spots were amazing! Right next to the water, but still had shade. Decent pit toilet nearby as well. We didn’t use the amenities at the Modern sites because they were having water problems

Fall Colors Camping

I stayed at the Rivermouth Pines rustic campground for a surprisingly warm fall colors weekend. It was a beautiful, quiet campground with stunning views. It is a bit of a drive to the upper falls, though, so be prepared for that! I can’t wait to visit again.
