Paris Park accommodates pets across its 66 campsites, offering electric hookups and water access for tent camping, RVs, and cabin stays. Situated along the Muskegon River, the campground maintains clean bathroom facilities and showers while providing picnic tables and fire rings at each site. Dogs must be leashed throughout the park, with designated pet exercise areas available. The campground opens from April 20 to September 30, with full hookup sites limited due to proximity to the river. CranHill and Brower Park also welcome pets with similar amenities, including picnic tables, fire pits, and access to water recreation.

Paved walking trails at Rambadt City Park Campground allow for convenient dog walks, with the Rails to Trails system extending from Grand Rapids to Reed City providing additional pet exercise opportunities. Haymarsh State Game Area offers more rustic camping options for pets, with secluded lakeside sites particularly at spot #11. Most campgrounds in the area require pets to remain on-leash at all times, with Paris Park staff enforcing cleanliness throughout the grounds. During summer months, the Muskegon River provides dogs cooling opportunities with multiple access points for wading. Veterinary services can be found in nearby Big Rapids and Reed City, approximately 15-20 minutes from most campgrounds.

      Countryside Campground & Cabins

Kid and Pet Friendly with technology hip owners.

W.O.W. This is the CLEANEST campground I have ever been to. Seriously not 1 cigarette but or candy wrapper on my site when I arrived. Picnic tables are freshly washed. Sites around#40 are spacious and shaded all day which was awesome. No mats allowed but it was great as the grass is green and lush. Store has apparel, camping tools, and ice cream. Kids ran there every day and it is affordable and friendly. Pool is super clean as well as the bathrooms. Loved the online check in process so there was no delays and we just pulled right into our site. If you have pets there is a fenced in dog park with pick up bags and mowed trails for daily walking or biking. We will be back!!!  WIFI too!

School Section Lake Veteran's Park Campground

      Nice campground

Was a decent place to camp- lots are very close though! Luckily in the fall it wasn’t very busy. Nice little lake on property. Fire pits in odd spot near the road. No pets allowed-not even a cat that stays inside in your camper! Also- there is a $7 a day fee for out of the county. Even when you arrive late at night.

      Poncho's Pond RV Park

      Loved It!

This park is a very nice RV park. All 257 sites are full hook-up (with cable), level, and have paved patios and for a $2 up charge you can get a paved site. Our site was super long (over 100’) and had a nice view of the large pond. There is pretty good separation between sites and on one side of us were large bushes that added privacy from our neighbors and the adjacent pathway. There are tent sites set off along one area of the park near the bathrooms. There are a few trees among the tent sites but they are not very private and located near the garbage dumpsters/recycle bins and on a main exit thoroughfare. There are also three “haciendas” for rent.

One of my favorite features of the campground was the fitness center. Poncho and his wife are triathletes so the facility is top notch with weight machines, free weights, cycles, treadmills, elliptical, medicine balls, and lots of bands. There are three heated pool on the property – two outdoor and one indoor with and two spas. Since we were there in mid-October the outdoor pools were closed but the indoor hot tub and pool were open (albeit, super crowded on the weekend with kids). There are two laundry rooms and three bathrooms that are very modern and clean. One of the cable television stations displays security camera footage around the property which was nice because I could see how full the laundry was before carrying all my stuff there. There is a game room for kids, playground, shuffleboard, and a clubhouse. There is a stocked pond on the property but it is only for kids (17 and under) to fish in. Cable television yielded 55 channels and WiFi was available at our site with a decent signal. The campground is very well-maintained with nicely mowed grass. The grounds crew was always working but they were not annoying with constant loud machines. There is a railroad track that runs behind the park but it does not get a lot of use so the noise was not too bad. If you don’t want to be near the tracks, ask for a site away from the south side of the park. There is an off-leash dog park but it really is too small and narrow for big dogs.

The campground is very convenient to lots of shopping and restaurants and within walking distance of a McDonalds, fruit market, drug store and grocery. Downtown Ludington is only about five minutes away which has a cute downtown with shopping, galleries, and restaurants. Ludington State Park is about 15 minutes away and has miles and miles of hiking trails and beach access. There is also a city park downtown which is along Lake Michigan with beach access and lots of room for a nice walk (but dogs are not allowed). The office staff was super helpful pointed out places to hike and things to do for the weekend. Also loved that they gave us a choice of sites and let us drive around the campground (in their golf cart) and pick out the one we wanted.

We camped here in an RV and really couldn’t find anything we didn’t like about it. New customers get a 10% discount and during our stay we fell into low season and nightly rates were discounted 50%. So for $28/night we got a really nice site with lots of amenities in a great location. If you are looking for a nice RV park at a great price near a nice coastal Michigan town, give this place a try.

      Dunes Harbor Family Camp

      Hands down favorite campground!

      This place is FUN!!!

The campground in itself is a blast. The waterpark, playground, hammock area, swings, biggest sand box ever, all the activities, and can’t forget the ice cream shop!!!

Then add in ATV access from the campground, waterfront sites to park your jet skis, and horse rides onsite!!

We never really wanted to leave! The staff were awesome! The grounds are well maintained and they have the best grass. Lol

My only suggestion would be to put in a fenced in dog park, but other than that, this is a must stop if ever in the Silver Lake area.

      Poncho's Pond RV Park

One of the best campgrounds I've been too!

The Layout of the campground is great. Perfect to bring your pets. Nice pools and close enough to the state park to go tubing or a beach day at Lake Michigan.  Everything is close so you are not missing anything.

      Rvino - Camp Cadillac, LLC

      Great private campground

Great little campground just on the outskirts of Cadillac. Great rates especially for full hookups. This was our first time at this park, we originally had a site next to the pool, but quickly realized our TT would not fit due to the trees. The front desk quickly changed our site and we were good to go. All sites were well maintained, they had a petting zoo (goats) and a store with a little game room in it. I would definitely come back.

      Not fancy, but nice

Really nice little campground. Not fancy, but clean and well kept. Pool and petting zoo for the kids. Small store with ice, few necessities and ice cream. Pond in the back on the small river for fishing. Quite a few seasonal campers. Anywhere from rustic to full hook up. Pet friendly. All gravel/dirt/grass sites. Most have trees. Fire pits quite small. Bathrooms very nice and updated.

      Herrick Recreation Area

      Peaceful, fishing and kayaking

Small but sweet campground. If given the choice get a site in the pine loops. It's more of a walk from the lake but the other loops have no shade and seem more crowded together. We had site #24 and it was fairly ideal and very roomy. There is the Pier- Marquette Rail trail about 1.5 miles from the campground, great for biking, running etc. Electric hook up was fine. Bathrooms are cleaned 3 x a day. Showers were warm and clean. This is Amish country and the campground has horse hitching posts near the fishing lakes. We saw a horse and buggy hitched up there. But I imagine anyone could ride their horse there then hitch up while they fish or wade in the water. Beach is across the road from the park and no pets/dogs allowed in that side of the park. Other campers there were courteous and respectful of quite hours. I would stay there again if I had another event bring me to this area.

      Mecosta Pines Campground

      Nice campground

Pretty nice sites. Pool and game room as well as a store. There are trails that lead to the river and also to an area where bald eagles have a nest. Pets are allowed . Nice little playground for the kiddos.

    Guide to Paris

Many pet-friendly campgrounds near Paris, Michigan provide access to the Muskegon River with varying levels of amenities. The region sits at approximately 900 feet above sea level with sandy soil that drains quickly after rain. Summer temperatures typically range from 70-85°F with cooler nights in the 50-60°F range, making camping comfortable even in peak season.

    What to do

Disc golf adventures: Newaygo State Park Campground offers an extensive disc golf course popular with campers. "There's good hiking, an awesome disc golf course, and the lake right there with boat launches for fishing. If you're not into fishing or disc golf, you might be happier elsewhere," shares Ryan L T., highlighting the specialized recreation options.

Boat fishing opportunities: Brower Park Campground provides extensive water recreation with designated facilities. "If you own a boat this campground is for you. It is very busy but if you decide to being kids, there are playgrounds and a craft barn. Alot of seasonal campers but alot of slips for visitor boats," notes Jami M. about the boating-focused amenities.

Fish hatchery exploration: Take a short walk from your campsite to observe local wildlife. "The park is connected to a fish hatchery where kid can feed fish, ducks and geese. It is full of history and boasts a minuture Eiffel tower," explains Jamie D., noting the educational opportunity near the campground.

    What campers like

Spacious campsites: Newaygo State Park Campground receives praise for its roomier sites. "Very wooded and spread out among the campsites! Close to the water, and there's a trail along the perimeter of the campground with amazing views. Great stargazing as well," explains Elise R., highlighting the privacy many campers seek.

Clean bathroom facilities: River Country Campground maintains well-kept facilities. "The restroom/shower building that's kept quite clean. The ladies room had three separate showers and I never had to wait for a turn during my stay," shares Janessa L., noting an important consideration for extended stays.

Rustic lake camping: Haymarsh State Game Area provides more secluded options for pet owners seeking privacy. "Very quiet and secluded, nice get away, #11 is the best spot," explains Dawn K., identifying the optimal site for campers seeking solitude with their pets.

    What you should know

Seasonal availability varies: Most campgrounds in the area operate from spring through fall with specific opening dates. "We live in Kalamazoo and wanted a quick trip out in the tent for a long weekend. We chose the park for it's proximity to home and because of nearby kayak/canoe launches," shares R. B., explaining their selection criteria for a short weekend trip.

Boat access considerations: Leverentz Lake State Forest Campground has specific facilities for different watercraft. "Big Leverentz is large enough for small motor boats, and makes a nice peaceful area to kayak around looking for wildlife including fish, turtles, muskrats, etc. It has a boat ramp and a fishing pier," explains Ari A., detailing the water access options.

Site selection priorities: When booking, consider proximity to amenities versus privacy. "We stayed in the Poplar campground. Sites are bigger than the other side and more private with more trees. Rez was easy online. Not many campers this weekend," notes Michelle P., highlighting campground section differences.

    Tips for camping with families

Playground access: Rambadt City Park Campground offers established play areas. "Nice campground park. But close to two-lane highway but not too loud at night. Park is clean. Nice playground and trail system," reports LE E., mentioning important amenities for families with children.

Beach conditions: Sandy beaches provide safe water access for children and pets. "There is a fairly large swimming area. The showers are actually nice and clean! The restrooms were surprisingly clean and modern as well," says Amanda L., describing family-friendly water facilities.

Craft activities: Some campgrounds organize regular activities for younger campers. "Kids loved crafts they had available," shares Cassondra P., noting the organized recreation options that help keep children engaged during your stay.

    Tips from RVers

Hookup limitations: Paris Park has site-specific utility connections with some restrictions. "Wish more of the sites were full hookups, but I am guessing it's because of distance to river," explains Chris S., highlighting an important consideration for RV site selection.

Size restrictions: Carefully check campground specifications before booking larger vehicles. "It would probably be difficult to park a large camper in any of these spots," Ryan M. warns about Shelley Lake Campground, noting access limitations that affect RV camping.

Dump station location: Plan accordingly for waste management during your stay. "Dump station near the exit," notes Matthew E. about Rambadt City Park, providing practical information about facilities placement for planning arrival and departure logistics.
