Off US 131 near Fife Lake, Spring Lake State Forest Campground sits on forested terrain surrounding a small lake suitable for kayaking and fishing. The state-managed facility operates year-round with hand-pump potable water and vault toilets that campers describe as large and clean. Sites accommodate RVs up to 50 feet, though the layout works better for smaller rigs and tents.
Highway noise from US 131 carries into the campground, particularly audible until late evening hours. Site spacing varies considerably—some spots offer more isolation while others cluster near the entrance and trailhead parking. The back section provides flatter terrain and quieter conditions away from road sounds. Fire rings and picnic tables come standard, with trash service and cell coverage available. Crittenden Park offers an alternative northwest of the area.
