    Perfect for ORVers

This campground is very close to trailhead. Well maintained, decent wifi. Don't expect any Verizon cell coverage here. Sites are nice and large, staff is friendly and the bar has good food

    Nice clean campground!

We love this place! One of the best places we’ve stayed. Bathrooms are well kept and clean. Sites are spacious and owners are very friendly! We’ve been here many times and will continue to come back!

    Washington Island Campground

Poised for greatness but falls short

Reservation process was smooth, as was check in. Site had both 30 and 50 amp hookups. Oddly, no standard 110v 15amp plug though. There is water at each site, but the lowest water pressure I have ever seen. Grounds well maintained, though the main building looks half finished and remained that way for many years. The bathrooms unfortunately do not match the upscale vibe of the campground. They were dirty, tons of sand tracked in, poorly maintained. The men’s urinal was a long term plywood out of order sign. Black mold on ceiling tiles in many places. Showers require a quarter to start them ??This campground looks like it started out with so much promise and now the owners are just coasting without putting much effort into the place. We have been here days and have yet to catch a time the office and store was open. Swimming hole looks nice for kids but due to poor planning of its location, it’s primary function is to provide a source of non stop sand in her bathrooms

I enjoyed my visit here. Clean and quiet camping, friendly workers. We were the only tenters but didn’t stop us! Great place to bring a friendly dog. Plenty of space/other dogs here

    Jack Pine Lodge and Campground

My literal home away from home during my travels.

I have absolutely nothing but positive things to say. I am more one to frequent rustic and secluded campgrounds. I found this place on a whim years ago... and now JackPine has a special place in my heart.

When I need to truly rest my bones, this is my go to in this neck of the woods.

Clean and warm cabins, modern and rustic campsites, bathhouse, a super cool bar, cold beer, great food and nothing but exceptional and friendly staff. Not to mention... WIFI throughout the property. When you go to the bar- be sure to grab a JackPine Burger and fries.

I have traveled almost every corner of The Yoop. I have not found a campground (of the modern and resort nature) that nearly compares to this place. Not in quality of stay or the constant desire to return.

Perfect for trail riding SXS or snowmobiles

    Great campground!

Book early to get a spot. It’s clean, quiet and caters to riders. It has a shower building, 2 washers and 2 dryers, restaurant, store (only open certain hours), ice, dump station and 91 octane fuel on site. There is direct trail access from the property, and they provide a free ORV hand washing station and air for tires. There is free WIFI for guests and you can also purchase a faster internet speed. I love that the campsites are not on top of each other and there are trees between the neighboring campsite. They cut tress branches to clean open spots for RVs. Most sites have water/sewage and 30 or 50amp service. There is a dog run in the back of the property for small dogs.

    just ok.

it was alright, just not a comfortable camping experience. the sites were nice enough, but the seasonal campers spread out a bit and we felt like we were invading everyone’s space by being there. But the UP is beautiful so it made up for it.

    Jack Pine Lodge and Campground

Last of the wilderness on the East coast.

The U.P. has so much to offer if you're into the great outdoors. Jack Pine is a small campground in the Hiawatha National Forest. It's a big attraction for Quads and dirt bikes during the summer and I'm told snowmobiles, during the winter. Being that in the summer, it doesn't get dark until 10 pm, you can spend all day and most of the evening riding the trails. This year, the gnats were just about unbearable, but no fault of the campground (welcome to the UP). Camp Hosts Fred and Nancy, were extremely nice and helpful. The bar/restaurant on site, is a plus if you're wanting a quick bite or cocktail. They do have decent wifi throughout the campground, which is good because there was no Verizon signal. The cabins had Satellite, but they were in an open field, the campsites are in the pines, which may cause poor reception. They sell firewood for $5 a bundle. There's a small camp store, with a few necessities & ice. Bathrooms were clean, and showers were enclosed with a locking door. I would definitely stay here again, but I will bring my netted gazebo, to keep the gnats and flies at bay.

Cedar River North State Forest Campground

    Highly recommended

This place is awesome. It's 8 miles down an old logging trail but it's worth the drive. There is no electricity but they have a fresh water spigot. There are 14 campsites, half of which have horse pens, most of the sites are river front on the Cedar River, and 2 sets a trails, one which is an equestrian trail that doubles as ski trails in winter. There is a kayak launch and the river is a great place for catching bass. Every site has at least one handicap accessible picnic table and a small fire pit. Most of the sites are big enough to fit a camper. There is a set of mudding trails across the river with easy access, the sounds are not too loud. The campground is usually empty or close to it. The mudders do come visit the grounds for the bathrooms, otherwise it's pretty quiet. There is a bunch of wildlife, you can hear birds and squirrels chattering, coyotes call to each other in the early in the morning across the river, and lots of little critters scurrying about. Dogs are welcome. There is a gas station/Mart on the highway before the turnoff that sells fire wood and other items you may need while camping

    Jack Pine Lodge and Campground

Amazing stay in the middle of the UP

Jack's Pine Lodge was an amazing neat little campground. They only have about two or three dozen sites but all are full hook ups and the location is amazing too. In the middle of the National Forest, smack in the middle of the UP. Everything is about 45 minutes away, but you'll get an amazing night sky and great camping hosts.
