Otsego Lake County Park

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Otsego Lake County Park operates a seasonal campground that draws campers to the shores of Otsego Lake south of Gaylord. The County of Otsego manages this Memorial Day through Labor Day facility, which accommodates both RVs up to 60 feet and tent campers across sites with electric hookups. Campers can access the park by road or boat, with a boat launch available for watercraft arrivals.

The campground splits into two distinct sections with different atmospheres. The north side places sites closer together near the playground, beach, and pavilion, creating a more social environment. The south side spreads campsites farther apart under tree cover, offering more privacy for those preferring quieter stays. Most sites provide lake views, though surfaces remain primarily dirt rather than grass or gravel.

Lake access features a sandy beach with some rocky areas, while the classic playground includes swings, slides, and climbing tires. Ann D. notes that "drinking water spouts are around the campground" since individual sites lack water hookups. The facility provides restrooms, showers, and a dump station, though some campers report the bathroom facilities show their age.

Four rental cabins sit directly on the lakefront for visitors preferring indoor accommodations. Reservations help secure preferred sites, particularly those with prime lake views that tend to fill quickly during peak summer months.

Great campground on Otsego Lake

This is a great campground South of Gaylord on Otsego Lake. I believe all sites have electric. The park is beautiful with a many sites having lake views. The playground is the classic old playground with swings and slides and some big tires to climb on. The water was mostly sand with some rocks. The campground has 4 cabins to rent right on the lake.

Decent campground

There are two sides to this campground. North side and south side. North side has much closer lots and is busier, playground nearby, beach, pavilion. South side has more covered, spacious, private sites. The bathrooms and showers are old and not the best. There is no place for washing dishes and the camp sites do not have water hook up. Drinking water spouts are around the campground. Sites are more of a dirt floor.

Needs to be patrolled

The campground was nice. It needs to be patrolled though. We were walking our dog at night and the campers don’t care about keeping there dogs on leashes . We were walking and a dog came running up behind us I’m just glad our dog scared it away. They were partying. Till 2 in the morning and being very loud. This wasn’t the first incident with dogs not be on a leash. There is supposedly a leash law in affect but no one cares and lets there animals run around. The site was good size but it was by a swamp.

State Park

Nice for a state park campground. Lots of trees, sandy beach, updated playground and good boat launch.
