Good for reservation in the last minute

We went just for one night with a tent because our 5 years old loooves camping, so we reserved this at the last minute, and when we get there, well, the tent sites are way too close to each other, thank god we just had one other guy next to us but was very uncomfortable being too close, no privacy at all, and lots of noise at night from kids staying in RVs, screaming until 11pm. The bathrooms were a little dirty, but not awful, and we didn’t read well that the place doesn’t have a grill for cooking, just the fire ring, so we had go hunting for one at a store very far away. Forget about cellphone signal, it was 0.

Close-ish to town. Zero cell signal.

This is more of a place where people actually live. They do however have temporary spots for 1-2 weeks at a time.

It’s just a few mins away from town. Would stay here again if there wasn’t a closer campsite with better cell signal.

Old and a bit rundown but good amenities.

We had tried to book a site at the campground twice through Thousand Trails and were assigned sites that did not fit our fifth wheel. Both times, the campground called us and cancelled because we didn’t fit in the sites that Thousand Trails had put us in. 😳 So, I called Thousand Trails and explained what was happening and was told they couldn’t do anything about it because their system showed we fit in those sites. 🙄 I then called Tuxbury back directly and they told me that they would contact Thousand Trails and let them know their system was incorrect, which they did. I received a call back afterwards from the campground letting me know they had me reserved for the correct site for our RV size. She had told me that this happens often there. We have a 35’ fifth wheel and TT was putting us in sites in section H. These sites are too small and hook-ups are on the wrong side. The correct sites are section J. Section J sites are large pull-through sites and very comfortable. I hope this helps anyone that goes through this scheduling nightmare! Otherwise, the staff was friendly and helpful. The park itself is old and a bit rundown. We were there for over a week in July and grounds were not mown once. It was overgrown and definitely needs some love. They do have a lot of amenities/activities for the whole family. One last note is that this campground is a golf-cart racetrack! Underage kids on golf-carts racing around and yelling a lot at all hours! We’re not sure what it was about and seems to be a frequent issue in New England campgrounds. 😬😬

At least it’s quiet

Address is messed up! GPS can’t find it. Actual address is 15 N Whitehall. The pot holes were horrendous. Needs some work….really tired.

Don't waster your money

Horrible camp ground, unkept and run down. Muddy Pot holes on every road. Dirty bathrooms, Pool is the only amenity. Zero activities. Without water and power for over 12+ hours. Flooded site, unpleasant and incompetent staff. We will not be returning.

New Management

In the past the management of Tewksbury plan was not the best. New pack management is very accommodating and cares about the quality of peoples experience

Okay campground

A little tip about GPS: if you’re using Apple Maps, it will likely take you to a turn that is not the campground entrance, there’s even a hand-written sign on someone’s lawn that has directions to the entrance (seems to happen frequently, I guess). We chose this campground because we got a booking discount on the Dyrt app.

Pros: Friendly staff, clean bathrooms, clean grounds, gated campground with card key access in/out of the grounds, 2 pools (closed for the season during our stay), pavilion, activities/entertainment, fairly quiet during quiet hours, laundromat, playground, dog park, boating pond, Horse shoe & Basketball court.

Cons: No hot water for showers, no separation between some tent sites, strong sewer smell in woman’s restroom & on some campsites, late check-in (7:45 p.m.) was a bit tricky — an envelope with a key card and map were placed in a mailbox for us due to store/office closing @ 6 but no mention of this in the confirmation email & long wait time on hold to find out site # (not included in confirmation email). I believe they use a 3rd party company for reservations. You do not get a choice during the online booking to choose the campsite to reserve & the site # is not included in the confirmation email. The mailbox that had our envelope in it was difficult to locate & we may have not found it if it weren’t for a very kind camper that showed us when she saw us looking around confused at the entrance.

So this is a pro & a con, I will try to start with the negative & end with the positive- Our site was in a field that was near the bathrooms. We were on S1, near a septic pipe & there was a severely nauseating, strong smell of sewage coming from it; we went to the front desk the next day & asked to move to S5, as we were the only ones on any of the 6 tent field sites. They were completely fine with it & apologized saying that they recently had someone there to fix the septic concern. We dragged our things down by noon. Within the hr, there was a large canopy tent set up right in between us & the bathrooms that we were now much closer to & there was a band setting up for their afternoon show. The live band was cool but we had golf carts & parked vehicles pretty much surrounding us & some right on our campsite, it was a little awkward. Then around 8, there was a gentleman that started setting up for a comedy show that they would be doing that night. A staff member came to our site and let us know that there is an 18+ comedy show but there was a children’s movie being played on a big screen on the other side of the campground. This was a nice alternative, however it left us with 2 choices: leave our site (with a fire we just started) for a couple hrs & have strangers & golf carts directly on our campsite again or stay on our site, watch the stand up comedy show & hope our 9 yr old won’t get the jokes. We chose to stay. So, here’s the main positive about the events — the band was good & the stand up comedy was awesome. For the most part, the comedians kept it fairly clean & our 9 yr old did not get any of the jokes that were a little sassy. All 3 comedians were clearly aware that there was a child in the audience & one specific comedian (Rob Steen) said right from the get-go that he was going to keep it clean for his bit & use innuendos that would go right over his head. There’s a high likelihood that we wouldn’t have went to see the comedians if it were held at the pavilion because of it being an adult show so we were kind of glad everything unfolded like that because they were really fantastic. We might return to the campground again but hopefully would get the choice of picking a more secluded campsite next time.

Will not be back

Pros: super nice staff at the campground and on reservation phone lines.

Cons: pond unusable, loud, dusty, golf cart speedway for seasonal campers, smelly (sewer)

Loved it!

Beautiful campground, clean facilities, decently priced. The pool, playground, bathrooms, and basketball court were all open and well maintained. We really enjoyed our stay!

Nice Place

We stayed here for a week, our site was large with full hookups and the area was very clean, some sites in other sections are closer together. There are lots of seasonal campers so if you don’t like that atmosphere this is probably not the place for you. It’s a great base for sightseeing. This is a Thousand Trails Campground and we have had a wide range of experiences with these campgrounds. This is one of the nicer ones.

Disappointment

Mostly seasonal, overpriced. Transients are treated like unwanted step children. I was told I couldn't have a campfire. The entire time I was there they ran heavy machinery around my campsite cleaning up. The site was one I would pay maybe 30/night for most anywhere else. I was charged 80/night. Will never return. By the way other campers had fires and my site had a fire-ring. I stayed here May 2018. (this form will not let me enter this info in the block below)

Been here a few times. Not the greatest. If you like loud party’s then this is the campground for you. It does have a pool and activities for kids but staff was not friendly. Would not go there again
