Pout and Trout

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Tokens greet you at the gate at Pout and Trout, a drive-in campground in Rutland, Massachusetts with full hookups and a notably managed atmosphere. The entry system issues a limited number of coins per stay, and campers who leave and return multiple times will need to acquire additional tokens. Staff circulate regularly by golf cart, which some visitors find reassuring for campground order and others find intrusive. It sets a particular tone worth knowing before arrival.

Full hookups are available, including electric, water, and sewer connections, along with a dump station and WiFi on site. One reviewer noted that the electrical setup consisted of "a power cord screwed onto a 2 x 4," so RV campers should come prepared for a non-standard connection. Running an AC unit may incur additional charges. Showers and toilets are on site, though multiple reviewers flagged the shower house as dated and inconsistently maintained. Cell reception is reported as weak.

The campground sits in central Massachusetts, where disc golf courses are within reach, and the surrounding area draws campers who want a base for regional activities. Nearby alternatives include Peaceful Acres Campground to the northwest and Camp Coldbrook Golf & RV Resorts to the southwest. Many sites are occupied by long-term residents. Campers looking for a short-stay RV hookup in the region will find this a functional, if no-frills, option worth weighing against its policies.

A campground with mixed experiences - one camper appreciated the helpful owner and nearby disc golf courses, but most visitors reported significant issues with outdated facilities, connectivity problems, and restrictive policies including token-based entry and extra AC charges.

Not the most Pleasant stay

upon entering they give you coins (only 4) in which you have to have to re enter every time you come back so you are limited to how many times you leave . Or you have to get more tokens after you run out because Machine does not give them back, and after I have my camper set up I run my AC unit and staff member came to me and said that I would have to pay extra to run my AC , staff is also constantly patrolling on golf carts all day so you feel no since of privacy, and bathrooms and shower houses are Aged and nit clean and water pressure isn’t good and hooking to the electric box is just a power cord screwed onto a 2 x 4 for hookup ! May be an OK spot for an overnight stay or tent

I hated every day I spent at this camp...I had no phone service or WiFi unless I went up to the office area.

Beautiful and family oriented campground

This campground is located near two beautiful disc golf courses and the reason we stayed. The campground itself was fantastic, the owner at the front building was very helpful and so sweet. Most of the residents were long term sites but very friendly. Got to talking with an employee who'd worked for 5 years there and the rules and regulations in place here keep the campground clean, friendly, and safe. They provide water, electric, showers, and septic pump trucks that come to you. The shower house was a bit old and dirty, but honestly that's the only thing I could complain about.
