Forest Ridge Campground

Stayed here while visiting friends and Acadia NP. Facilities very clean every time I saw them. Showers were nice but you need to wait for the hot water. Run it all hot and it will get there in a little while. Wood available on site. Open spaces in the middle with no trees or shrubs. Campers can be very close. Sides have more wooded sites. Not too many seasonal looking sites. 1 issue: our clean out was a bit high so had to lift sewer hose to clear it out. Didn’t use pool , laundry area worked good , screen porch at facility building. Fire ring worked out well, kept lots of heat in. We were off-season mid September. Reservation system forced us into our site, wants to charge a site selection fee.

I stayed here for a few months. I really enjoyed my stay. The campground was quiet, and the area was pretty. The staff were also very nice. I intend to stay here again next time I'm over that way.

This campground is such a hidden gem. Large level sites, full and partial hookup, wifi, play area for kids, laundry facility, and bath house. Jeff and Lynn have really made it a great place to stay. They are constantly upgrading and looking for ways to make your stay enjoyable. They are extremely knowledgeable of the area and are happy to give advice to share for any adventure you are planning. The wifi was upgraded in 2022 and is lightening fast. I was able to work and take zoom calls with no issues.  When in the area again, this will be our only location to consider staying.

We travel the country for 4 months during the summer and fall. Tomorrow we check in to Acadia NP for 14 days. We arrived in the area without a reservation. We put The Dyrt to the test and found Forest Ridge in Ellsworth, ME. What a terrific find , last minute or not. Super friendly staff, large full hookup sites, most shaded, some sunny. Level gravel most pull through and many big rig sites. About 20 minutes outside Acadia NP, where there are no hookups except for electric on Scoodic..
