10/10 experience!

The owners were so incredibly nice and helpful! They not only surprised our girls with picks of their own antique dolls on arrival but they gave us their own brochure with hidden gems all around the area. We got to hike some of the best spots without the crowds and even got to catch starfish at a spot nearby. The sites are a bit crowded but the view we had more than made up for it. We will 100% be returning!

Our 1st fave on our x country trip

LOVED it here. We had a great spot with front row views of the water, just steps to the Adirondack chairs. Neighbors were regulars and had great tips for area musts. We slid on on a cancellation. The little shop at the front has the best gems. Family owned and operated, helpful and friendly staff, and steps to awesome lobster rolls and clam chowder. Close to everything. The weather was perfect. There was one super loud lady on our last night (maybe slightly over served or angry??) but nothing headphones couldn’t cure…I was surprised it went on for as long as it did with quiet hours starting at 9, but it was the only “downside” of our stay. That bad apple didn’t ruin it for us though. Would definitely come back anytime!

Great family owned campground!

Great place to stay. Sue and Peter are wonderful and make you feel like family! The grounds are kept in immaculate shape. It's away from Bar Harbor but close enough to go visit. We liked going to the Winter Harbor area to hike and ride bikes. Corea Wharf was a great place to eat and LobStore is a good place to get fresh seafood!

Very nice! Would return here.

Grass sites w gravel pads. Std bathhouse. Ocean (bay) view. Low tide beaches (rocky but smooth). Steps to beach. Great views. Pull thru and back-in. No black hookups, but honey wagon service. Husband-Wife operated. Tiny store. 45 min to Acadia Nat’l Park. Quiet, no shade. Very pkeasant.

Super nice park overlooking water

Pro: we had a great spot (30) and great view of water. Many spots not as close to water as we were. Spot gravel and took us few extra minutes to move around to find most level Part . Owners great and on site. Close to Acadia National park, great lobster places and many other sites. Sue prepared a super handout that tells you what’s around. For the most part it was peaceful. Some loud music ( odd how people think everyone wants to hear their music), and Peter rides semi loud tractor vehicle to sell wood and do chores. But he’s got little choice I guess. It was pricey and when we asked to reserve next year 2022 the price for that spot went up so much it’s just not what we want to pay. View is great but … So we won’t be back. Maybe spots further away from water are less! IDK. Also # 30 is 30 amp we are 50 we knew that coming in no surprise. And we were fine with 30 amp! Lots to do nearby. We had a great time in that part of Maine. Sue really went out of her way to offer me the best spot she had open .

Great views

Older campground that is being redone and updated. Fantastic views from many of the spots. Great location to get to both parts of Acadia. Good food within walking distance (bbq and seafood and ice cream at neighboring local spots). Friendly campground owners who will answer any questions you have!

Spot 18

Spot 18 is perfect! The view is spectacular. The campground is small and very quiet. There are clean bathrooms and showers available. There is a quaint little store that has anything you could need or anything you might have left at home. Along with firewood and the regular stuff they have kayaks for renting. The owners can give you all sorts of wonderful recommendations for restaurants and destinations around town.

Beautiful view

For me it wasn’t a typical camping experience, not a lot of trees and site are pretty close together, BUT the view is amazing, the people are amazing and activities in that area are endless. The owner of the campground is such a sweet lady, my friend and I ended up helping her set up an Instagram account because she had just opened the campground when we went, she even gave us a free night the next time we go back. She also recommended places for us to hike and swim in the area. There are hiking locations near for experts and intermediate hikers. Some trails even lead to swimming holes. You won’t be disappointed staying here.

Away from Traffic

Mountain View is beautiful. it captures Maine very well! it’s a little bit of a drive away from the park, but worth it if you want privacy and to be away from too many people. we only stayed one night, and the weather was really cold, but the sites had water and electric.
