The site sits along the eastern section of the trail, which summits seven mountains including Old Speck and Sunday River Whitecap. Campers find ample tent space and a self-composting toilet, plus a shared bear box for food storage.
Three streams within a half-mile provide water collection opportunities. The site offers morning views toward Sunday River ski area. Other trail campsites include Grafton Loop Trail - Bald Mountain Campsite and Grafton Loop Trail - East Baldpate Campsite. This backcountry spot works best for experienced backpackers prepared for primitive conditions and multi-day trail adventures.
