Just passing through. Met our needs for one night. Didn’t see the laundry facility so can’t speak to that. Play ground, pool, friendly office staff. Wifi seemed ok. Major traffic noise at night from the highway. About 14 minutes to downtown area. Park seemed a little rundown, sites close together. Worked for one night stay.
We spent a month here as we had a hard time finding anything else that could book more than a few days. There’s some full timers here but the place really fills up on the weekends. The view is nice but the water close to the park is swampy and a gross. There’s only one washer and one dryer in an old rundown building that they say is under construction but I never saw anyone working in there. The closest town is jasper and they have a grocery store and a laundromat. Chattanooga is 40 minutes drive. And the lookout winery is about 10 minutes away and has the best pizza I’ve ever had. (Can’t say the same for the wine). Office and grounds staff aren’t overly friendly but were helpful when called upon. There’s NO cellular connection in the park and the wifi was spotty. It worked but isn’t reliable for zoom meetings when you need it to be. There are TWO entrance roads to the rv park. Be sure and take the first left on Hales bar road. Do not go up to the top of the hill and turn because it takes on you a steep and very winding road that isn’t good for big rigs or trailers. Yikes. Overall, made it work for the weeks we were there but would probably look else where next time to something with a laundry facility, better internet and closer to town.
Stayed for 5 nights to tour the historical sites. Was very easy to access from the campground. Was not a lot in the way of restaurants and take out nearby. A lot closed. The campground was packed out. We had a pull through that was easy to get in and out of but was so close to our neighbor we had to keep the blinds shut or we’d be looking inside each other’s campers. We were also on buddy hook ups with our neighbors. Was quiet and had what we needed but expensive for what they consider “premium”.
Needed a last minute stay for one night and got in here. They had brand new premium pull through sites that were amazing! Big patios, bbq grill, tables, fire pit. It was a quiet, well laid out and easy to manage in our 36 ft trailer. Wished I was staying much longer at this campground. Definitely recommend and would love to come back and check out the wineries and country stores nearby.
Only place I could find for one night as we were passing through. Was easy to get in and out of. But is an old campground. A bit run down, lots of highway noise. Manager was friendly and helpful. Did not tour the caverns but looked interesting.
Had a great pull thru site on the pond. Trails, wooded area, friendly staff. Quiet area. Would def stay here again. Easier to get in and out of. Lots of wineries nearby and lots of great hikes. Beautiful country.
Very wooded area. Hard to maneuver big rigs. Steep, unleveled roads. Water is yellow and stunk of iron. Manager assured it was safe. Made our shower look dirty constantly. Probably a better tent campground but was fine for a couple weeks. Manager was nice and helpful.
Stayed one night….roads were narrow and steep and hard to maneuver bigger trailers and rigs.
Very wooded area, looked like mostly full timers living there.
