New Orleans RV Resort & Marina
So awesome!
In a rather industrial area, but the park is beautiful. Palms, marina, it's like an oasis. It's close to all attractions - just couldn't be better
Several campgrounds within driving distance of Lockport, Louisiana offer furnished cabin rentals with varying amenities. Catfish Cabins and Campground provides spacious, condo-style cabins with waterfront locations, full hookups, WiFi, and cable. According to one visitor, "The cabins are more condo style, very spacious and very clean." New Orleans West KOA features cabin accommodations with air conditioning, clean facilities, and access to amenities like a pool, playground, and laundry facilities. Lake End Park Campground & Marina in Morgan City (about 40 miles from Lockport) offers cabins near Lake Palourde with full hookups and access to fishing, swimming, and boat rentals.
Pet-friendly cabin options exist at most locations, though policies vary by campground. New Orleans RV Resort & Marina provides premium cabin accommodations with waterfront views and access to amenities like a restaurant, pool, and hot tub. Bobby Lynn's Marina & RV Park (temporarily closed as of last update) previously offered waterfront cabins designed specifically for fishing enthusiasts. Most cabins remain open year-round, though peak season for fishing-oriented properties typically runs April through November. Advance reservations are strongly recommended, especially during summer months and weekends.
Most rustic cabins include beds with mattresses but require guests to bring their own linens, pillows, and towels. Kitchen facilities vary significantly between properties, from basic microwaves to full kitchens with refrigerators and stovetops. Catfish Cabins provides fish cleaning stations for anglers. On-site stores at some locations like New Orleans West KOA offer basic provisions, though selection is limited. For extended stays, bringing cooking supplies, food, and personal items is recommended as grocery options near some of the more remote cabin locations can be limited. Bug spray is essential year-round at all Louisiana cabin camping locations, particularly those near water.
"The spaces are a bit tight, only RV spots have a fire pit. Showers are well kept but the place smells musty. The location can’t be beat and the employees are great."
"The place is rather small and the RVs are pretty close together, but it’s not as bad if you get the ones that are not on the concrete pavement because the trees provide shade."
from $77 - $98 / night
"There are cabins and RV sites with FULL HOOKUPS, WiFi, cable, fish cleaning stations, a pool, and a washer and dryer. The owner and operators are friendly and the place is kept clean."
from $23 / night
"The biggest drawbacks are the drive up and the ... Flight for life? Helicopter that keeps passing over. The amenities are top notch, the sites are great. The price is a premium, but it's legit."
"They pick up your trash by noon, LP pickup/refill, shower hot, store, pool, hot tub, sitting areas with rockers, laundry, dog area and great restaurant/sport bar. Had excellent crab cake and bisque."
from $75 - $170 / night
"There is a protected area on the lake within the park that you can launch your boat and they do have two restrooms with showers as well as washers and dryer’s to clean your clothes."
"Back in spot right up to Lake Palourde in Morgan City, La. Full hook ups, swimming a beach with canoe, kayak and jet ski rentals. Really nice area for those with or without kids."

"The electric sites are $30 a night and it’s an RV park with manicured lawns covered in tiny mammal poops and lawn trimmings and 1-2 palm trees per site."
"We stayed on a beach site in October of 2020 and it wasn’t too crowded - all of the sites are in a line down the beach front but there’s decent space in between each spot and they back up to the dunes."
"Lots of history in the area, fun quiet place to stay, about an hour drive to New Orleans, Howard and his wife are hosts and very nice people, the place needs a lot of work but the character of it all is"
"All the RV sites and cabins are waterfront with easy access and free launching. The cabins are more condo style very spacious and very clean."
from $65 / night
"Some are in need of repairs and power washing. Not an RV resort. That’s the bad. Now the good."

Campground is cute but a bit outside of NOLA. People are very nice. Showers are old but clean and could use some repair. Otherwise good.
We arrived at Lake End after the check in time but the office was so helpful and pleasant to check us in. Once we got to our site we had some problems. The 30 amp was tripping and the wash house was closed for renovations. But over two weeks, the long term neighbors made this feel like home. The walking trail is quiet during the week and early in the morning. After the first day, we really enjoyed our stay.
This KOA is a gem! It offers all the amenities that a camper would need. It is super clean has large concrete pads, and is easy to get to from the interstate. When you arrive you will be greeted by friendly staff both outside and inside the office. This isn’t the biggest KOA we’ve been to but it has it all. A pool, laundry and bath house, shuttle for downtown and you can rent a barbecue for grilling. It is safe and we took the short walk to the levy and walked along the Mississippi River. The best part was they can book any tour you’d like to do. We were here in the off season but I would imagine if you came during the busy times you could book through them and avoid long lines. They do not charge to do this. They run a shuttle to the French Quarter and it’s only $15 for adults which is about the same to drive down and pay for parking. They also have dog walking services for your furry family members. This is a great spot to stay and explore New Orleans.
We spent almost a week at the New Orleans West KOA in January while exploring the New Orleans area. It was a good base to work from, about 25 minutes from the downtown museums and convenient to places like Destrehan Plantation and Bayou Segnette State Park. There are plenty of good restaurants and shops in the area, too.
Campsites are crowded in next to each other and you cannot see the river because of the levee. On the plus side, a 10 minute walk will have you on the multi-use trail on top of the levee and that is a wonderful place for a walk, jog, or bike ride.
The staff was friendly and helpful. Everything worked at our campsite. I give this 4 stars instead of 5 only because it is so urban, crowded, and lacking a good view.
We spent New Year's Eve 2024/2025 at Grand Isle State Park. Our spot (pretty much all of the spots) was a five minute walk from the beach. You cannot actually see the Gulf from the campsites because of a levee. Even on December 31, though, there were swarms of mosquitos, the only reason why Grand Isle gets 4 stars instead of 5.
Park staff was friendly and helpful. The roads were good. The electricity and water worked just fine.
Mostly long term residents in residential mobile homes, motor homes, fifth wheels, and travel trailers. Some are in need of repairs and power washing. Not an RV resort. That’s the bad. Now the good. Location, location, location; 30 minutes from New Orleans, $600 a month or $175 a week (as of 11/2024), electricity and water included in price, FHU.
We stayed at the park for 2 nights as part of a countrywide RV holiday from Europe. This park was head an shoulders cleaner nicer, tidier than our previous parks. The check-in team we're lovely and went through everything and also what we could do in the area. Lovely pool and restaurant with great prices.
The shower rooms were also immaculate.
We picked a deluxe waterside plot which was opposite one of the spare moored up river steam boats.
Arrive from Tiki Toms in Tiki Island, TX. We stayed for 2 nights on our way to Alabama. This resort sits approximately 5 miles from downtown New Orleans. It is a great onsite restaurant with a fabulous pool. The sites were spacious and well-maintained. A recommended stop to visit NOLA.
