      Nice Park

Just stayed one night as I'm traveling. Sites were very nice and spacious. I arrived after the office closed so I just found a spot I liked and regestered in the morning.

      Sorry, no pictures.

      Natchez state park

Overall a nice campground. There was no entry gate, ranger or camp host so there wasn't much security. The restrooms were old but we'll kept up and clean. During our stay some other campers came in late at night and left very early and threw trash all over the ground around their campsite. Some better security would be good.

      Disaster Area

The entry road is not really suited to most RVs The electric box has a wasp nest The concrete slab was partially covered in mud The picnic table area was covered in fire ants everywhere plus a huge ant hill Laundry is out of service The campground has no lawn care and you are basically camping in a mud jungle Mosquitoes were thick Leaves were deep There were two other campers 1 van, 1 motorcycle No on-site rangers or staff We never unhooked and left We will attempt to get our money back

      Clear Springs Recreation Area

No primitive sites found. Small RVs can fit.

It has 2 separate areas, both have electric and water at the sites. $25. Smaller RVs and tents only. Dump site at the entrance. There are trials, large picnic areas, and an older bath house with hot showers. Big pond for fishing and swimming.

      Clear Springs Recreation Area

      Quiet, clean, $20

There's 2 separated campgrounds. The lower site is less accessible for longer campers. $20 per night includes water, power, gravelled site, fire ring, and day use. Lots of trails and a large pond to fish and swim. Picnic areas and well maintained banks. I read a review that stated free primitive camping, but I found no such location.

      Great nature campground.

Beautiful, wooded campground. Grounds and bathhouse are well maintained. Its so quiet and peaceful. It's hard to tell on the map, but the bathhouse is conveniently located for all sites in B section. We stayed in lot 26. It was a great spot.

Natchez State Park - Nice, Quiet, Tucked Away

Enjoyed my stay for 3 nights. the campgrounds are tucked back in the wooded areas. You drive in from main highway and feel like you’re in a tunnel of trees; temperature drops 5-10 degrees. I was in Campground “B”; nice area with some sites on the lake. Be careful selecting your site, some are uneven and the pad sets above ground level. Sites all have a grill and fire pit. Bathhouse was clean with a washer/dryer for $1.75. Men’s had 2 showers booths. Water pressure at my site was 40 psi no issues. Park is easy access to Natchez and surrounding historical sites.

    Guide to Ferriday

Ferriday, Louisiana sits in the Mississippi River Delta region where the terrain consists primarily of rolling hills and wooded areas with elevations ranging from 50-200 feet. The area experiences humid subtropical conditions with hot summers reaching 90°F and mild winters rarely dropping below 30°F. Campgrounds near Ferriday provide diverse options from lakeside sites to elevated woodland camps, with some facilities offering raised glamping platforms to manage seasonal ground moisture.

    What to do

Fishing opportunities: Several campgrounds near Ferriday feature stocked lakes and ponds. At Clear Springs Recreation Area, visitors enjoy multiple fishing spots around the large pond. As one camper noted, "Great Lake for kayaking. Nice big fishing pier. Great fishing for big bass and catfish along the levy."

Historic exploration: The region offers numerous historical sites within short driving distances of most campgrounds. Grand Gulf Military Park provides on-site history with Civil War artifacts and structures. A visitor mentioned, "This park is not on the way to anywhere... but upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised by a park filled with history."

Trail hiking: Many glamping sites close to Ferriday, Louisiana connect to varied hiking trails. The terrain offers unusual elevation changes for Louisiana. One camper at Tunica Hills Campground shared, "Nice campsite... a lot of hiking trails nearby for all different skill levels... the terrain is amazing couldn't believe I was actually in Louisiana."

    What campers like

Privacy between sites: Campers frequently mention the secluded nature of sites in the area. At Tunica Hills Campground, "Most campsites are secluded from others. I recommend this place to anyone." The natural ravines and hills create natural boundaries between camping areas.

Night soundscape: The region's dense forests create an immersive natural experience after dark. A Tunica Hills visitor noted, "The campground is very secluded, so you get to experience the sounds of the woods at night."

Clean facilities: Many campgrounds maintain well-serviced bathhouses and common areas. At Natchez State Park Campground, "The bathrooms were great (always important to me), very clean, hot running water, all the essentials."

Affordable rates: Most glamping accommodations near Ferriday maintain reasonable pricing. Clear Springs Recreation Area charges $20-25 per night with utilities included. One camper confirmed, "At $20 a night this place is a steal! Water and electricity at all the sites."

    What you should know

Weather considerations: The area can experience sudden storms with significant rainfall. At Grand Gulf Military Park, "Site #12 got covered with about 2 inches of mud upon a rain storm." Elevated sites or platforms help manage wet conditions.

Limited cell service: Many campgrounds have minimal connectivity. A Grand Gulf visitor mentioned, "1 bar Verizon" while another noted it's a good spot "for a quiet place without cell signal."

Reservation systems vary: Some campgrounds require advance booking while others operate first-come, first-served. At Clear Springs Recreation Area, a camper explained, "It is 1st come 1st serve except for the group site. Unless you're showing up late Friday or Saturday usually spots are available."

Access challenges: Several glamping locations near Ferriday have restricted access roads. At Natchez State Park, "The entry road is not really suited to most RVs" according to one reviewer, while another mentioned, "Currently, the main entrance to the park is under construction, so we were detoured about 7 miles around very bumpy backroads to an alternate entrance."

    Tips for camping with families

Playground access: Some campgrounds offer designated play areas for children. At Natchez State Park, one visitor mentioned, "Nice playground by the lake. There was decent shade at half of the sites on the loop."

Swimming options: During warmer months, several sites offer supervised swimming areas. Clear Springs Recreation Area features "a small man made lake" with "one side shallow and sandy for smaller swimmers, one side deeper."

Trail difficulty ratings: When hiking with children, check trail ratings first. A Tunica Hills camper advised, "I wouldn't recommend trail C if you have small kids unless you wear them in a pack."

Kid-friendly terrain: Some campgrounds offer natural play features. At Tunica Hills Campground, "There are areas for the kids to play in the woods some of the areas are steep and they needed supervision (5&6 year old)."

    Tips from RVers

Hookup availability: Most glamping options near Ferriday, Louisiana offer varying levels of hookups. At Clear Springs, "It has 2 separate areas, both have electric and water at the sites. $25. Smaller RVs and tents only. Dump site at the entrance."

Size restrictions: Many campgrounds in the region cannot accommodate larger rigs. A Clear Springs visitor noted, "Located close to Vicksburg, Ms. and on a small man made lake. The area is hilly and has some great hiking trails. Not a lot of room for large RV's so check with them."

Site leveling: The hilly terrain creates challenges for level parking. At Natchez State Park, "Be careful selecting your site, some are uneven and the pad sets above ground level."
