Great little campground

Me and my family have been camping here for over 40 years. This is great place to camp if you like peace and quiet. It doesn't have a lot of campsites but what it does have are pretty good. There isn't any electric hookups but that's ok with me.I like the trails and there is a small lake for fishing. Good place to see wildlife too like deer, bear, turkeys and smaller animals.

Comers Rock Campground is located in the Jefferson National Forest in southwestern Virginia. To reach the campground, take Interstate 77 to the Galax/Hillsville area. From there, follow state roads through rural countryside to reach the campground entrance. The final approach involves driving on forest roads, which are generally accessible by standard vehicles but may be rough in spots. Due to its secluded nature, it's advisable to bring detailed directions or use GPS, as cell service can be spotty in this mountainous region.

Do I need reservations for Comers Rock Campground and what are the fees?

Comers Rock Campground typically operates on a first-come, first-served basis rather than taking advance reservations. The camping fees are modest, consistent with basic Forest Service campgrounds. During peak season (spring through fall), the campground may fill up on weekends, so arriving early is recommended, especially for holiday periods. For the most current fee information and to confirm whether any reservation system has been implemented, contact the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area office of the Jefferson National Forest before your trip.
