The Fries New River Trail RV Park is a unique park with spacious sites overlooking a lush green lawn and a narrow winding stream. The RV park is located in a quiet mountain hollow surrounded by thick forested hills on three sides.
The mornings are always cool and light patches of fog float gently across the park rising from the nearby river.
Come enjoy the beauty of early mornings, the sounds of nature beginning a new day, and let your spirit be refreshed as you sip that first cup of coffee. And once refreshed, you'll be ready to enjoy the activities of the day.
And remember, like an old friend you're always welcome.
Rate: $39.00 / night including tax. $40.00 first night reservation deposit required. You must call 276-233-1178 to schedule your reservation. Ten day cancellation notice required for refund of deposit. An $8 fee will be applied on any returned deposits.

Great location small town with dollar store that has everything you need or forgot. The host was awesome very personable would definitely recommend once you get there. You won’t want to leave.
LegendA 10 in the middle of nowhere
Tom, the owner is first class as is his campground. Impeccable gravel sites, bathroom and common areas. Sites are close to level. Nothing severe at all. All sited are full hookups. A single washer and dryer available onsite. Great wifi and cable hookups. 2 blocks from New River Rails to Trails. Beautiful biking/hiking trail. Kayaking, fishing w blocks as well. We loves it so much we stayed 2 more days. Pro note: go to Creek Bottom Brewery in Galax (less than 30 min). Great food and beer options. Pickle fries are amazing! You'll thank me later

RangerAbsolutely Stellar Campground!
Fries New River Trail RV Campground is just off the New River Trail in Fries, VA. I loved the whole campground - it’s small, less than 20 sites - but each site is beautifully landscaped and maintained. Our site was completely level and had a deck, perfect for a morning yoga routine. The sites were full hook-ups and the campground had really good Wi-Fi. We stayed for four nights, but I want to go back in the fall when the leaves are turning.
The New River runs through the town adding to the scenic-ness of the town. There is a restaurant and an ice cream shop, but the real attraction is the New River Bike Trail. The start of the trail is less than 1/2 mile from the campground and travels along the New River for miles. It is also possible to reach Galax by bike along a spur - about 11 miles from the campground.

From Interstate 77 Take Exit 14 off I-77 (Hwy 58, Hillsville, Galax, Independence) Hwy 58 WEST to Galax (you’re 10 miles from Galax) As you come into Galax you’ll see Lowes Store on left at 1st stoplight Wal-Mart on right at 2nd stoplight 3rd stoplight turn right onto Cranberry Rd (BB&T on right) Note: this street is only one block long At stop sign turn left onto Glendale Road Go approx. 1 mile, turn right onto Cliffview Road (large office building on right) Go approx 1 mile, turn right onto Fries Road Go approx 1/10 mile and turn left (State Road 721 / Fries Road) Fries road will bring you into Fries on Main Street Landmarks as you enter town: Dollar General, Ball Park, Fountain, Fries Methodist Church, and Fries Baptist Church Turn right at the Fries Baptist Church (Grayson Street) The RV Park is 300 feet ahead Drive up to the yellow office building.
