Within the Green Rv Recreation Area, COE Green River Lake Smith Ridge operates as an Army Corps of Engineers campground from mid-May through mid-September. The facility sits on a wooded point with both forested sites and more open terrain, accommodating RVs up to 84 feet with electric and water hookups.
The campground divides into distinct sections that create different experiences. Sites 1-30 occupy the older, wooded area with substantial shade coverage, while sites 31-80 spread across a more park-like setting near the playground and bathhouse. Campers consistently note the cleanliness of facilities, though some report power issues with 30-amp service and maintenance concerns in older bathrooms. Cell service remains minimal for most carriers throughout the property.
Water access defines much of the appeal here, with fishing opportunities directly available and a boat ramp within walking distance. The swimming area requires a short drive of about a mile from the camping areas. "Location was excellent, close to the water," notes Lindsey M., though she experienced electrical problems during her stay. An unmarked hiking trail provides on-site exploration, and firewood comes stacked at each site upon arrival.
Road access can present challenges for some campers, with several noting proximity to traffic noise on certain sites. For additional camping options in the region, explore campsites near Campbellsville. The campground accepts reservations and welcomes pets throughout the season.
