Nice for a County Park

This campground offers electric only sites for RVs.  Water can be a bit tricky to get in the park and there was not host onsite to assist.  The RV sites were mostly level on a gravel pad with a grass yard.  There is some shade with fire pits on site and picnic tables.  It was very quiet as this is…

A Gem in Linn County, IA

We camped at this park for 9 nights with W/E on site with a dump upon exit/entrance.  Our site was unlevel but was able to get the RV right with tri-levelers.  The sites are very spacious with some shade, a fire ring, and picnic table provided.  The nearest grocery store was within 5 miles.  The…

Sweet tent sites on the lake!

Great open air tent sites right on the side of the lake. Perfect access to restrooms close to the beach and close to the beach and write-off the boat dock.

Excellent Park

This is one of the best RV parks we have stayed in awhile. Meticulously maintain with good size, level sites. We had a 50amp water site and the dump station was nearby. This county park is very nice and sits in a very quiet valley. A true gem….

Perfect for overnight camping

Very cute campground right off highway. I called while traveling and Mike was very accommodating. Full hookups and showers. Even got a pool. Gas station nearby full of character.

Quiet Nice Park

Rogers Park is a nice quiet getaway. It has a lake where you can fish swim kayak or troll with your boat.

Friendly, green scenery, a bit noisy

We stopped over for the night, and it was a good respite. They have mini-golf, a nice pool and a creative rugged play area for the kids. Unfortunately, the pool was closed for the evening cleaning, so we didn't get to use it. There was a beautiful wetland just down from the campground. It is right…

Lots of highway noise but convenient

Very standard rv spots feet from the highway. Hosts are very amicable. Perfect for what we needed, a quick stop on our drive across country. Appears to be lots of activities for kids/families during the day.

Great site

Had an awesome camping trip here. We were last minute and there were 2 spots left, we happened to get an awesome site, away from other campers, right on the river for fishing. Only issue was the whole site is on a hill, so had to pitch a tent on the parking pad. Bathrooms were surprisingly…

Endless trails, cool cliffs, quiet atmosphere

I have been to Backbone a few times, this spot is one of my friends and I’d favorite. There is no through traffic so it’s quiet. Tons of trails, specifically the spot we camped at was right by the trail so we had easy access. The sites are big so you can camp far back and keep the vehicles at the…

Beautiful and relaxing.

Great stay over memorial day weekend. Quiet campground. Be prepared for a couple of hills in the park.

Great until the morning

Generally nice with spots on the river and even flush toilets and showers. Note this and Tailwater West seem to mostly by RV spots with one or two tent walk in sites. The walk in sites are WAY better (read actually separated) at East.

Nice and peaceful until 7:30am when the loudest grass mowing…

Well kept, lake front camping

Fantastic campground! Plenty of space, even if it's busy. No special amenities, but a nicely kept state park.
