Roberts Creek West Campground

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Drive-in access makes Roberts Creek West Campground straightforward to reach, and many of the sites feature paved pads with electric hookups, a practical setup for RV campers who want a no-fuss base in Marion County. The campground operates seasonally from April 3 through October 25, includes a dump station shared with the east campground, and provides drinking water and ADA-accessible facilities. No pets are allowed, so check that restriction before booking. COE Red Rock Lake Roberts Creek Park sits just south of here and handles overflow or alternative configurations within the same park system.

The wooded setting is the defining feature of the West campground. Norman D. describes it as "dense, tall shade trees," and each site looks out into the woods rather than toward open sky. One caveat worth knowing: the lake is nearby but not visible from the campsites themselves, which surprises some first-time visitors. Taller RVs should watch for low-hanging branches on approach. Sites vary in length and width, so it is worth calling ahead if you have a longer rig.

Recreational amenities near the campground entrance include a playground, horseshoe courts, and bags. Cell service is available, and alcohol is permitted. Campers interested in campgrounds around Robert's Creek Park will find a handful of options within the same corridor, including Fifield (IA) a short distance southeast. If the wooded sites and easy drive-in access fit your needs, Roberts Creek West is a workable choice for a county-level overnight stop in central Iowa.

Roberts Creek - East

East not west as satellite view in Dyrt is old and doesn’t show East campground. I did add a screenshot of current satellite view. FHU. Easy in and around campground. A lot of space between sites. Sites are fairly level with hard pack gravel.

Nice wooded park near lake

Caveat: you cannot see the lake from the camping spots

Camped site 26

Wooded county campground. Many of the spots at the West campground are paved. They all have electric. A few have other amenities. Water and dump site in the park (dump at east campground), but not at most spots. Spots vary in length and width. Decent playground. They had some bags and horseshoe courts near the entrance.
