Smith Lake County Park sits on the edge of Smith Lake in Kossuth County, north of Algona, with drive-in access and full hookup sites running up to 40 feet. The campground operates April 15 through October 31 under the Kossuth County Conservation Board. RV sites line the perimeter with water, electric, and sewer connections, while tent sites occupy a hillside closer to the lake. Dogs are welcome on leash. A beach sits near the camping area, though geese have claimed much of it. Ambrose A. Call State Park Campground is a nearby alternative for campers wanting a different setting.
