While visiting Cass County, discover the best that outdoor recreation has to offer at France Park. There are over 200 wooded campsites,both primitive and electric. Primitive sites ,only, are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. Modern sites can be made by reservations. 130 sites have electricity which consists of 30 amp, 50 amp and 110 Volt plug ins. Water hook up is also available for most modern sites. There is no direct sewer hook up but we do provide a dump station. We also have one Primitive Cabin. It has a bunk bed and a double bed, which sleeps four people in total. NO Dogs allowed in the Cabin. The campground has two shower houses, one newly built with private showers rooms, and several playgrounds, there is also The Old Kenith Depot Store that sells ice, groceries, fishing and camping supplies, and ice cream. Everything the camper needs!

Hit a little rough patch in life and needed a break from sleeping in the car and hotels . All the staff at the park were very friendly and understanding of our situation. At $20 a nite for tent site ,showers ,clean toilets ,whole park is very clean ! Lots of things to do here and the waterfall was our fav part ! Deff will be back when in the area . Our site was right down the Rd from the waterfall so had a great view !

The vault toilets were acceptably clean. Spots were close to the river. The campground has cabins, trails for hiking and horseback riding.
As other reviews have stated….the mosquitoes are prolific and abundant! We left early.

It was overly crowded, the lake was murky (worse than normal), and we weren't even allowed to bring our floating island on to the lake.
GuideWe visited this park twice (once in Sept 2020 and again in June 2021). Both times we stayed in the cabin campground and both times had very good experiences. Each time we went mid-week so there was hardly anyone else there, and that was great. The cabins are small but perfectly fine for our group with two bunk beds, a small loft, and a small table inside. They have electricity so charging phones and devices is not a problem. Cabins 4 and 5 are up this small driveway and are slightly separated and I would recommend those if you can. We never had to go to "town" so not sure how far it is to any stores.
Each time we rented a canoe and did a paddle/float trip on the river that ended at the canoe rental location. Would not hesitate to stay here again.
TravelerWe stay mid-week as we are retired. Full hookup site were $30 a night. Sites seem large and well maintained. All the staff that we interacted with were very friendly. We kayaked the reservoir, used the beach and fished. Finally, we hauled our bikes to the reservoir overlook and then rode them over the dam. A very relaxing trip. T- mobile cell service was 1 bar, however we had our T-mobile internet tower and got 3 bars. Slow speeds but we could still stream tv.

Check in quick and easy. Campsite level and clearly marked. Ours was a full hookup site and everything worked as should. A big bonus was that there is a shuttle bus that runs to the amusement park every half hour. The park has security that roams through the park which was a plus. Had T-mobile cell service but weak.

TravelerOur very first trip in our new pop up camper. Our site was sunny in the morning and early afternoon with some shade beginning late afternoon. Had a concrete patio under the picnic table. The table was oversized, which was kind of nice, except our covers wouldn’t fit. Nearest bath house was okay, but definitely showing it’s age, including broken mirrors. Showers are temporary valve type without adjustable temperature.
Splash pad was really nice, but a few elements were not working. Pool at neighboring KOA is supposed to be available, but was under repair. Seems like a lot of little things like that could use some attention here. You do get a discount on amusement park/water park tickets with a two night stay, and there’s a free shuttle.
Overall it was a good stay and we would return, but would like to see some more attention to the facilities.

GuideWe used to go here every summer like clockwork but the last few time the add on have become ridiculous to the point it was cheaper to stay in a resort than go camping here. Overall it’s nice but very commercial. Not well regulated as far and camper conduct. Witnessed several fights and drunken behavior. Cars tearing out through the night. The campground is great but the people make it difficult and for the price it’s just not worth it.

Nice place, some sites are not level so you have to pay attention. It’s $12 a nite and it’s all primitive so you can have a generator. So because of that some people use noisy ones. But the gun range is awesome and good hunting spots as well.

ScoutWe used to go camping here every summer when I was a kid so it brought back a little nostalgia we stayed an E567 I would stay away from these they are very muddy kind of tight to turn a 30 foot camper in but other than that Tickets To Indiana beach are $27.50 at the gate house. Laundry works amazingly have to download an app. All around great. Wish they had a better food option
TravelerThe area is extremely nice and relatively quiet. Sites are spacious and it did not feel like we were cramped in, like some campgrounds. Not many grocery stores in the immediate area, ensure you have what you need or.plan to drive in to Peru (about 25-30 min away). Internet rarely worked and Verizon coverage was extremely minimal. Brand new bathhouse was extremely nice.
TravelerWe love Caboose! If you have kids or teens this is your spot. Super clean water and beach area with inflatables- so fun! They do require wristbands which cost 10$ a day but that includes bumper boats and unlimited paddle boat rentals, for us it’s perfect! Fun to take out the kayaks too. We will be back!

LegendThis is a North Central State Park in Indiana. Not one of the better units, but it has some charms. The mosquitos get bad in the summer, so come prepared. We camped the end of May& they were just getting going. Spring& late fall would be a good time to visit.
None of the campsites have a view of the river. Only 112 campsites in the electric side. There's a primitive tent campground by the river, with a few sites. There's also a horsemans campground, which we didn't look at. This is a well established campground& has nice shade trees in all the sites.
Get water before setting up at the water station after the small gatehouse. There's 2 sides at the dump station. In the campground there's 2 comfort stations. Station A looked like it had been totally rehabbed in the last 5 years. Everything looked nice& the showers could be turned to your preferred temperature. Cleaner than the last state park we were at for sure!
Handicap accessible sites are 109/110/111/112. There are 2 pit toilets in the campground, though I don't know why. The modern bathrooms are right across the road. Stay away from sites 73/75& 105/106. Right by the pits, with a sidewalk between them. The sites are typical state park. No privacy for most. There's gravel for your camper pad. Not dirt.
The best sites are site 1- right on the main drag, but the most private site in the place. If you enjoy watching the rigs come in& leave, this is your site! Vegetation separates you from site 2. Site 58 is the only pull through in the campground. Site 63 is also a pretty good site. All sites are not too far from the bathrooms.
For the playground, sites 2,3,4,6,&7 have direct access to a playground& you can watch your children from your site. All the interior sites by comfort station B have direct access to the playground from your site & you can watch your children from your site. Avoid if you dislike the sound of children playing.
We stayed in site 102, which is right across from bathroom A. All the outer sites are pretty good. Our site ponded water after a rain, but soaked in fast.
There's some trails that can be accessed from the campground- Trails 1,3,4&5.
All in all an average park. Nothing really special except for the river. Fishing was poor according to my husband.
ScoutWe venture up to mississinawa reservoir pretty often as it's close and nice. Friendly ataff, well jept grounds. Note not all bath houses are created equal here. One of their bath houses that is most convenient to more campsites , unless renovated this year really lacks..getting the proper temperature is difficult, it lacks descent privacy and you have to continually push a button to get water. (Can be inconvenient when rinsing soapy hair) Now the negative out of the way... it's lg enough that there's usually a site available. UNLESS it's during a special event such as their reenactment or their 4th of July celebration and fireworks. They have a descent beach w/a very nice bath house and connecting concession stand, convenience store. Plenty of roads to ride bikes on. A designated boat ramp and docks if you want to bring your boat along. Fishing is good with a fish cleaning station for campers. (Note- Asian carp are an issue here) Fire rings but I find campfires a a make it or break it...I won't camp there is they don't allow campfires. Trails for hiking. We have camped in their nice but simple cabins. But they do have an issue with raccoons. During one of our cabin stays raccoons really did a number on a window screen in an attempt to het it to our food and the staff was indifferent to the problem. Still it is a nice park/campground I'd recommend. Be alert to the weather though as this area seems to always get hit by bad storms. Happy Camping!
TravelerThis was only the 2nd adventure out with our new travel trailer. So glad we chose Old Mill Run. Campground is very well maintained with a heated pool, mini golf, two stocked fishing ponds and more. We had a full hook-up, pull through site with plenty of room to the neighbor. Great T-Mobile 5G reception which we used to catch up on some TV shows while it rained a few hours. We’ve already booked our next visit.

GuideWhen we arrived the grass was almost taller than our Corgi, Kelvin. Luckily, we had brought a weed wacker and we cut the grass at the site with that. However, the facilities available at the campsite and beach area are pretty nice. Recommended for those who own boats. There is no shuttle system for kayakers that wish to float the river. No good hiking trails.

However, the mosquitos are absolutely terrible due to the campgrounds proximity to the Tippacanoe River. Yeah, I know there will be bugs when camping but the amount of mosquitos at the park was like nothing I have ever experienced. I would not go back unless it was in the late fall/winter.
