Convenient and Quaint

Last minute stop for an overnight on the way to another sight. The information online was scarce (navigation was able to get me most of the way there, but had to use a map and some common sense to find the actual camping zone).

It was dark by the time I’d arrived. There’s a local bar that was still hopping nearby. Generators are allowed, so there was a hum of one running all night but it was no bother at all.

Otherwise, entirely peaceful and quiet. Only a few campers here on a weekday night.

Affordable rates. Grateful for the night. I will almost certainly return!

Hunting and fishing

Nice place, some sites are not level so you have to pay attention. It’s $12 a nite and it’s all primitive so you can have a generator. So because of that some people use noisy ones. But the gun range is awesome and good hunting spots as well.

The willow slough (the slough)

The slough. We like it! I'm being bias due to how close it is to the house. It's $12 a night. Pretty clean campground run by the DNR, lots of acreage to explore. No real trails but if you don't mind roughing it plenty to explore, hunting, fishing, mushrooms, electric motor only boats on the lake. We bring our kayaks. Staff has always been friendly, a sandy type soil so it drains well after rain.

Tent camping and Fishing

We enjoyed the quiet camping. Not much to do but fish. No hook ups but they do have a dump station. Use to have a shower house but it was closed when we were there.c

Nice place but water taste funny

I love the place, the sites are first come first serve with cash($12), no power outlets, no shower. If you just want to sit by the fire, or want to camp out during the hunting season, or fishing with your boat, it’s a good place to be, there are monster bass in this lake, I have got a 19-inch largemouth in 2017. Do remember to bring power source for you phone such as a power bank and water to drink, the water there taste funny.
