Elkhart Campground

Elkhart Campground operates seasonally from April through November, accommodating RVs up to 45 feet with full hookups including electric, water, and sewer connections. Located just off the highway with easy road access, this family-run facility serves as a convenient base for visitors to the Elkhart area, particularly those needing RV service work at nearby manufacturers.

The campground spans a large area with varying site configurations. Regular sites sit close together, while deluxe sites offer concrete pads and better spacing between units. MickandKarla W. found the utilities "well placed on the pad and the water pressure was good at around 50 psi." Several reviewers noted the rear section sites lack shade and sit closer to highway noise, while front and side areas provide more tree cover. Verizon users typically get strong cell service, though campground WiFi receives mixed reviews.

Amenities include a swimming pool, laundry facilities in Recreation Hall 3, and a small camp store at the check-in office. The facility maintains clean restrooms and showers, with multiple reviewers highlighting the cleanliness standards. A quarter-acre fenced dog park provides space for pets, plus walking trails through woods at the back of the property. Recreation options include basketball, pickleball, horseshoes, mini golf, and volleyball.

The campground frequently hosts manufacturer rallies and serves as a staging area for RV service appointments. Staff members receive consistent praise for accommodating special requests and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. For dining, Cracker Barrel — Elkhart sits less than a mile away, while local restaurants like the Flippin Cow offer additional options within a short drive.

This established campground works well for RV travelers needing full hookups and convenient highway access, especially those conducting business with area RV manufacturers or seeking a functional overnight stop in northern Indiana.

Many mentioned the clean facilities, friendly staff, and family activities as standout features. Some feedback indicated concerns about tight site spacing, though most found the large campground well-maintained overall.

First hand discrimination

I have seen a lot of discrimination on TV and people talk about discrimination a lot never did I think I would actually see it in my lifetime against myself. The owner of the campground is very disrespectful even when you're being very polite and I'm confrontational he doesn't like to be asked questions he doesn't like to answer questions. All they asked was the year of my camper asked that a bunch of times insinuating that I was lying to him about that age of my camper. He talked down to me he made it very apparent that the problem was not my camper and that it was my family and that my family wasn't good enough to be in his five-star campground that we would bring down his aesthetic when I took plenty of pictures of what his aesthetic is his home looks like it was built by hillbillies there's trash everywhere a bunch of Ford camper that look like trash it has the nerve to charge $1,200 a mouth to keep ppl like us off his property. When obviously we had the money to pay. I am a well educated woman I had finished college and I'm actually working on my second degree in psychology a bachelor's degree. I have ran billion dollar businesses at one point in my life I ran the number one Taco Bell in the nation in cedar falls Iowa. I was the GM of an Arby's I actually signed paychecks controlled accounts had more money moved to my hands than that man will ever see in his sorry life. I have never felt more sorry for a person I think he probably should go back to his own country if he wants to talk to people like that and I get f***** up he's lucky I changed my life and found Jesus but I hope it's five stars they find bury that full very thoughtful since there's no customer service. He claims people have been going to live campground for 30 years but when I went around and talk to the people most of them there was their first time being there they were from other places so stop the cap and I made sure to let everybody know the type of man he was. He had the audacity to act as though I was begging him to stay in his horrible campground when I was not when I was just simply asking him what the problem was with my camper and why he was telling me I could not stay he has every right to refuse my service but he does not have the right to discriminate against me or my family it is against the law and I actually got it underestimate in me and assume I was just an ignorant person who didn't know how to do anything all right doesn't have plenty of money but I think everything is a little lesson in life and he will definitely learn his definitely when he receives the papers in the mail.

Clean, well maintained sites, a bit tight. Amenities are somewhat outdated. Near a lot of manufacturers. They have manufacturer rallies.

Elkhart, IN….Nice campground

We stayed here to pick up a new RV. It’s a huge campground with lots of space. Some sites are cement ours was gravel. Very clean, nice sized dog park, quiet and close to restaurants. If had an occasion to stay here again…we definitely would!

Worked for Us

We came to Elkhart for a week to have servicing done on our 5th wheel. The campground(CG) was easy to find and pull into just a short drive off the highway. After checking in, we proceeded to pull through site 742 with FHUs. We had a tight turn into the site due to the camper next to us sitting at the back of the site, and a Class A on the other side was close with its awning out. But we were able to get positioned on the site so that we had a few feet of clearance between our bedroom slide and their awning. The regular sites are very close together in this CG. The deluxe sites give you a cement pad and better spacing but are still fairly close together. The utilities were well placed on the pad and the water pressure was good at around 50 psi. We got 4 bars on Verizon but the CG Wifi wasn’t all that great. They have about a 1/4 acre fenced dog area plus there are plenty of areas within the CG to walk your dog including a short trail through the woods at the back of the CG. There’s a small camp store at the check-in office and a decent laundry in Rec Hall 3. Go to the Flippin Cow about 1.5 miles from the campground on Simonton Lake. The Bonnie burger is very good! If you need any obscure RV parts, check out Bontrager's Surplus in White Pigeon MI. This large RV surplus is not too far away and it's worth checking out just to see all the things they have in stock. Overall, this CG met our needs.

3 1/2 star campground

It is a very large older CG with a few upgrades. Clean, with decent amenities. We were placed in the rear section, which was just ok. Site needed leveling, had no shade at all and was close to major hwy. The front and side sites seemed nicer and had ample shade with some concrete sites. Laundry room, pool and bathrooms were very clean. Large dog park, but was far from our site. Was only 25 min from Notre Dame and about an hour from lake Michigan WiFi was great, no cable, but good antenna reception

Lovely landscaping and happy hosts

We were looking for a campsite particularly in Elkhart as we were visiting family and stumbled upon this one. It is family run and they are all wonderful! We had a nice spot not too close to anyone. There are other areas of the park where the sites are really close together. I was glad we had some space the 2 days we were there. The campground offers several amenities including basketball, pickle ball, horseshoes, putt-putt, swimming, laundry room, hot showers and a camp store. The friendliness of the hosts as we as the other campers set this park apart from some of the others.
