Access requires parking along a gravel road on the Iowa side of the Mississippi, then a roughly one-mile walk to reach the site, with the final stretch running about a half-mile off the railroad tracks. Managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers, this spot sits adjacent to Lock and Dam 13 near camping spots near Fulton. Fishing along the spillway is a draw, and a small beach sits next to the dam. Campers wanting a developed alternative can look at Thomson Causeway, located about 4 miles northeast.
