This free dispersed site features remnants of an old settlement along the river, giving campers a glimpse into the area's history. "Old settlement remains on river. Small metal fire ring Great views and quiet!" notes Cia S., capturing both the historical elements and atmosphere visitors encounter. The site allows campfires and pets, with firewood available and alcohol permitted. Both drive-in and walk-in access accommodate different camping styles.

Campers should verify GPS coordinates before departure, as some mapping services may show incorrect locations. The Little Boulder - BLM site offers another dispersed option 4.6 miles southwest for those exploring multiple locations in the area.

This free dispersed camping spot along the Salmon River offers scenic views and wildlife sightings including moose. However, GPS coordinates are reportedly inaccurate, showing Eagle ID instead of the actual Challis location, which could cause navigation issues for visitors.
