Tucked away in the Chattahoochee National Forest, River Campground is a popular camping destination that will provide you with a truly memorable camping experience. We are conveniently located off of Highway 441 in Historic town of Lakemont, Georgia. River Campground is close to many area attractions such as rafting the Chattooga River, hiking trails for all levels, boating and beach areas of Lake Rabun and Burton, Shopping and Dining, and much more.We offer lodging options for everyone, including RV sites, Tent sites, Rustic Chalets and a River Cabin. We have 2 bathhouses and sell firewood on site. We also try to have bluegrass music on Saturday Nights. We are pet friendly, provided you keep your pet on a leash, clean up after your pet and do not allow incessant barking. You may swim and tube in the river at your own risk.

Very cool campground

We had a really nice time at this campground. We stayed at the River Chalet which was very comfortable for our family of 4 (we have a 7 and 9 year old boy) Woodsy vibe with plenty of TLC in the installations. Plenty to do like tether ball and other games.

My only critique would be the bathhouse. It was clean and in good operation but there was only one men’s room near our cabin. Also the shower was clean but minimal. I would have appreciated more hooks and shelves in the shower and a sink and mirror for shaving.

Will definitely go back. The staff is really attentive and committed to making your stay great.
