We are located in a very rural part of Geogia and country quiet is one of our best amenities. We have a laundromat with Speed Queen machines on site. Verzion and AT&T cell phones and hotspots work great without buffering. We are 6mi from boating and fishing locations.

We did a short weekend visit to escape the heat. We were up the weekend after Labor Day, so maybe 30% occupancy. It was great! We got site 198, which is a perimeter back in. All amenities are close by. They have two kid splash areas, lazy river and heated pool. There are two spas, although one was down on our visit (not big deal). They have plenty of options to check out games. On site dining and bar are a bonus!
Be warned that roosters just east wake up early!

DO NOT STAY HERE! We have been travelling across the US all year and this is by far the worst campground we have stayed at. It’s so run down with a disgusting pool and very unhelpful staff. We had to leave due to a very sick kiddo and despite giving two days notice they refused to refund any money leaving us hundreds of $$ out of pocket. Please avoid.

Small park with 6 level gravel 30ft wide spaces with full hookups fences between neighbors very well maintained grassy lots for an unbeatable price. Watch out for the deer on hwy 57. No office on site but the manager met us onsite and was super sweet and helpful brought us a WiFi extender so I could connect for work.

Paid for it online stayed the weekend from Friday to Sunday . Check in between 1:00-10:00pm must be out by 12:00. Has an electric outlet right next to our text, a faucet for fresh water, has a fire ring and a picnic table, just off the water. Have fire wood available for purchase if needed. We had a wonderful time brought the kayaks and fishing poles.

Very convenient from I95. Good location for the Savannah area. Sites are very tight and graveled but level. Shower house is clean and well maintained; its location is at the entrance and a bit of a distance to the sites furthest from the entrance. Staff is friendly and helpful.
RangerRead through all the reviews and it seems to have come a long ways. There are more hiking trails, really nice docks and boats for rent and slightly better Verizon service. My Tesla wireless worked barely and without the cell phone extender I wouldn't have been able to work here. All in though they do a very nice job of providing private spaces and the cabins look amazing. It was in the teens outside so not floating on the lake for me but I would love to do that. The lake looks incredible.
GuideWe stayed at George L. Smith State Park in Oct. 2023. We had a large, level, pull-thru site with water and 50 amp service. No sewer. There are sites on the water that some are large and some are close. Those do have a view and some are private.
The park was quite and peaceful for our visit. We really enjoyed paddling the pond and checking out the grist mill and covered bridge. The pond is black water with tons of cypress and tupelo trees throughout. Kind of mystical.

This RV Park is clean, friendly and has Full Water and Sewer Hookups. It's off Highway 341 which connects Coastal and Middle Georgia.
LegendWe stopped for one night heading home to FL. We had a site near the pool. It was so hot out once we got set up we took a dip in the pool. The sites are close together yet KOA's are like that. There is a nice lake with Swans. You can fish and kayak on the lake.
Easy access coming off the interstate I would stay here again.

The park has many amenities just a short walk away. Nearby golf course seems to be appreciated by several campers. Take a walk down to the dam and read about the construction of the park and the lake, by the CCC, in the 1930's
As of September 2023 the construction on the Cottages continues, so there is some noise during the day. But considering we were the closest to it, it was not bad.

RangerAbsolutely love this campground! The sites were well maintained. The have many amenities I clouding a pool, lazy River, kids splash pad and kids pool. They also have tennis/pickle ball courts, a basket ball court, playground, pool table and ping pong tables. There were daily activities offered for both kids and adults. There was also a bar and grill at the pool area and a full restaurant at their lakeside sites. The lake had docks for fishing. They do have onsite golf cart rentals but we rented from an outside company since all of the resorts were booked for the week. It is a large campground so having a cart was very helpful. Without it we would have needed to drive to the lakeside area unless we were really wanting to get some exercise. We can’t wait to go back in the future. The kids loved it.

TravelerHad everything we needed to include a clean laundry room & restrooms/showers. A beautiful lake and nice area to walk. Our site 45 was nice and level for our 30 foot trailer. Wifi was great and also had cable hookup! Our only complaint, and it’s a minor one, was the dog area (Kamp K9). It was filled with loose, airy dirt. Our dog wouldn’t even retrieve her ball because it was covered in dirt. Maybe she couldn’t identify it or just didn’t want a mouthful of dirt. 🫤

LegendGeneral: Small (25-site) campground, all with electric/water plus a fire ring, lantern hook, and picnic table. There are also 8 cottages and four primitive campsites. Most have a water view. An interesting thing about Georgia state parks is that when you arrive and check in, you become eligible for a senior or military/veteran “rebate” which is not available when reserving.
Site Quality: All sites are gravel and level. Most sites had a step-down area with a picnic table, fire ring/grill, and lantern hook with plenty of room for a tent.
Bathhouse: Was very clean. Lights are on a timer so make sure you don’t end up in the dark too soon! Did not use the showers but they looked to be very clean as well.
Activities: Fishing, boating (kayaks are available for rent), and some short hiking/walking paths. There is an 1880s grist mill/covered bridge with self-guided tours but it was scheduled to close for renovations on October 31 (not sure for how long) so we were lucky we arrived on the 30th and were able to see it. The hosts were very available and friendly. The campground was about half full and very quiet.
Note that there is a sketchy RV “park” across the street from the campground. When we asked, the host said they keep a close watch on it and make sure no one from there accesses the campground; we did not experience any problems.
We were told the colors were early this year and they were like nothing we’d seen before so as a photographer, I loved shooting something entirely different! Also, we were pleasantly surprised there were no bugs so close to a swamp!
ScoutThey are very nice here. I made my reservation over the phone for three days. Ended up getting caught in over an hour of standstill traffic on the first day and missed my check in. Was too late to cancel. I called to let them know that I would miss my check in but still wanted to keep the other two days of my reservation. Without even asking they canceled the day I would miss and moved my check in to the next day, saving me money. Was very kind.
The pull ins are nice and shady, and pretty level. The staff are nice. A great quite place.
Note: they don’t allow conversion vans. I have a professionally built van, which they made a one time exception for, but van lifers aren’t normally allowed to stay here.

GuideThis is a quaint little KOA. Easy access and near Savannah For touring the city. Bathrooms are clean and you can sit out and enjoy the lake in the morning with you coffee. Not much space between sites but there are several places to go and sit.
GuideLarge wooded space, free laundry, excellent showers in heated/air conditioned rooms. Hiking trails, pond and fort lewis nearby. Only 1/2 hour drive to Savannah.
