The area experiences temperatures ranging from the mid-30s in winter to the high 80s in summer. Nearby, visitors can explore Clarks Hill Lake for fishing and boating or visit Elijah Clark State Park for hiking and historical sites.

J. Strom Thurmond Recreation Area

Clay Hill Park and Campground is located at the South end of Lincoln Co. and on the North side of Georgia's Little River section of Clark's Hill Lake. The shoreline of Clay Hill offers excellent fishing for Bluegill , many species of Bass, along with many other freshwater fish. A boat launching ramp is located within the campground.

Great location for church, civic , or company outings. This is a fairly small campsite, but the sites are big and spaced apart with enough brush and trees in between creating plenty of privacy.The primitive sites offer picnic tables, fire rings, and a nearby bathhouse. A great place to utilize for group outdoor gatherings.

Please Observe - To help make everyone's stay pleasant and enjoyable, we ask that all observe our camping rules.

  • Check in time is 3:00 pm.; checkout is 1:00 pm.

  • Electric Sites - One wheeled camping unit is allowed per site unless double or triple sites, tents are limited to impact pad capacity

  • Primitive Sites - Two tents per site or one wheeled camping unit.

  • Friendly pets allowed (we ask that aggressive breeds are left at home). Please keep penned or on a leash no longer than (6) feet. Owners must clean up after their pets and are responsible for their actions.

  • Quite hours are recognized between 10:00 pm. and 7:00 am.

  • Down trees and limbs may be gathered for firewood. Please use designated fire ring area for campfires. Cutting down of standing trees not allowed by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

  • Please help us keep campgrounds clean for next campers. Trash dumpsters are provided at a central location in the park.

  • No campsites have sewer connections. Dispose of all wastewater sewerage at sanitary dump stations.

  • No alcoholic beverages allowed.

  • Discharging firearms or fireworks in campground is prohibited.

  • Visitor hours end at 9:30 pm.

  • Golf Carts are allowed with a day permit (four wheelers and ATV's prohibited). Owners are responsible for all accidents to riders, others, and property damages.

  • Registered occupant of campsite must be at least 18 years old.

  • Maximum campsite occupancy is 10 people per site.

  • Bicycle riders must obey all traffic laws. Children are the responsibility of adult supervision and under 16 must wear a helmet.

Camping is a great outdoor experience ; therefore we do not give refunds due to the whims of Mother Nature.
The Management reserves the right to refuse service, limit the length of stay and the number of persons or vehicles per site and/or evict any person or party without refund.

Campsite Reservations: We will return your deposit minus a $7 non-refundable booking fee if you cancel FOUR (4) or more days prior to your arrival date. If you cancel THREE (3) days or less prior to your arrival dates you will be charged one night stay plus $7 booking/cancellation fee. If you cancel on scheduled day of arrival or no show you are responsible for the full amount of your stay, along with $7 booking/cancellation fee.

Note – Credit Card refunds may take up to 10 days or longer depending on your own credit card refund procedures.

Please understand a situation which may arise with reservations to experience glitch with booking issues. If this occurs you will be notified, and our staff will do their Best to find an alternate site to book for your stay. If we are unable to do so, we will refund the full amount.

Due to Act of God damages, electrical or plumbing issues your reserved site may have to be moved to another. Trust that we will do all within our means to accommodate to Best of our ability. If you are not satisfied with the change, we will gladly refund your full amount.

Very peaceful

We loved this campground. I think most all of the sites are waterfront. They are also very spaced out.

Great campgroound

Last time here rowdy crowd music blaring day to night! My first time there was fantastic! Great waterfront sites . Pretty calm for so much water sport action.great hostess. Last time no host made them self known.
