So peaceful

We just stayed here for the weekend with our two kids and dog and it was so nice. We had a site right in front of the pond and it was not a long walk to the bathroom/shower area. Showers could have been a bit cleaner, but overall it was a nice stay. Wish they kayak rentals for the ponds. But it was still nice and quiet!

Small campground

With only 20 sites, this Campground is small, but very peaceful with great views. Most sites are a tight Squeeze for larger campers.

Far yet close

Far yet close…that’s the first thing that comes to mind. Far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the beach areas but close enough to enjoy them just the same. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try if you are in the Panama City beach/bay county/Walton county area. Quiet, serene, easy to get to if you don’t mind dirt roads that are amazingly maintained for a state forest campground! Site 10 was fabulous and all sites have 50/30 amp hookup and water. Dump station nearby and a hood bathhouse area with showers. You have a pond with a fishing dock and a camp host in site 1. I can’t say enough good things about this little gem just 15 miles north of PCB. Off hwy 79 it’s a short drive off interstate 10 exit 112. My wife, 12 yr old and mini Aussie are having a blast, so much so maybe I need to just keep this a secret??!!! Haha happy camping!

Great campsites

We had a great time and really liked the campground except for the fact that there is not full hookups and the dump station was closed. Camp host is super nice. Also found out that you can't fly a drone in state forest land. Glad the camp host was cool and let me know before the Rangers came and I got in trouble.

Well kept with lots of pine trees

Great little campground near Panama City! Almost all sites were water front. The sites were paved, spacious, and well spaced out. The grounds were well kept with many pine trees. The trees make it a perfect hammock heaven! Bathrooms were clean and and spacious, so were the showers. Site had water and electric, and a dump station.

Wonderful campground

Unfortunately we got rained out early but that wasn’t the campgrounds fault. Other than the rain we had a great time! Felt safe and secure with my toddlers. Pretty and our site was spacious. Everything was clean and the shower was really nice! Our site was in a counter by the woods and super nice! Right on the pond!

Quiet, secluded, and beautiful.

I initially had a reservation at one of the primitive camp grounds, but my reservation was cancelled due to flooding that closed all three primitive camp grounds. Better yet, I got an RV spot on the day of arrival. Great pull-through sites with fire ring, picnic table, water, and electricity. Pitched my tent on the banks of Sand Pond.

The two-mile Campground Trail, part of the Forest Service's Trailwalker Program, winds along the banks of Cyprus Pond, through the mixed hardwood/pine forest, and around Sand Pond. This is a nice and easy, well-maintained, level trail.

Was lulled to sleep by the croaking of bull frogs while watching the moon rise from my sleeping bag. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.

Still nice!

The last time I camped here was about 15 years ago. It has been updated, beautiful. The two ponds are still nice and provide a place to fish.

Very private

Very private secluded camp ground. Very clean and nice facilities. The host was terrific. We lost power in the middle of the night (no AC! Yikes) but the host was right on it and did what they could. Very beautiful lake I could have sat looking over it for days.

Great little find!

Super nice primitive sites! Would advise to book Campsite 2 or 3 as they are more spacious and provide better river views. Overall, well kept and neat. You really feel like you are in a pine forest all by yourself. Looking forward to coming back.

Beautiful, Peaceful,

There are 2 different camps in the forest. Sand pond, which has hookups for water and electric, very nice, well maintained and enjoyable. Then there is Primitive camping- absolutely the best way to reconnect with nature, enjoy the natural forest and all natural amenities. Absolutely loved being out in primitive. 3 sites total along pine log creek, approx. 1/2 mile apart. Cannot wait to go back!!!!
