Great location at a great price.

Camp Robbins is located on Eglin AFB just outside the Fort Walton Beach area. The camp is easy to find when you enter through the main gate and even the big rigs shouldn't have any navigational problems getting to the camp. Be aware however that their are two roads that lead into the camp sites one is dirt and the other paved, I highly recommend one enter in on the paved road which is the first right after passing the BX and commissary.

The RV camp site is not small but not huge either more of a perfect in-between. Each site is FHU on gravel and comes with a picnic table on a slab, for the most part the sites are leveled but not perfect. There are some back in sites but most are pull through (so convenient) as well as well spaced so one has some privacy and doesn't feel like they're in an ant farm. The sites and facilities are maintained fairly well as the bathrooms are clean and have hot water the laundry works and we even saw in many occasions work crews coming out to re-level some of the sites.

Location wise the camp is super convenient and ideal as the BX, commissary, class six, USPS, UPS, and Burger King are literally across the street from the camp site. Along with this their is also a base gym, boat and equipment rentals and bay side access for fishing and swimming on post and close to the camp as well. Fort Walton Beach, Okaloosa Island, and Destin are minutes away as well. If you don't mind the drive Pensacola and Panama City are other areas to visit.

There is plenty to do as well between the Eglin visitors center (for kids and military history followers), emerald beaches, fishing, shopping and great food you can't go wrong.

Be aware however Camp Robbins is located just south of Eglins airfield so if roaring and screaming fighter jets first thing in the morning is not for you scratch this camp off your list. On the other hand if roaring jets don't bother you then you'll probably enjoy the free airshow every morning. I would however stress learn and know the high traffic times as depending on where one is off base during traffic hours can mean the difference between 15min or 1hr trying to get somewhere due to how channelized the routes are here. Be aware as well Fort Walton Beach is growing and has a lot of construction happening on its roads.

Lastly for the price, location and security I would give it five stars but their is always room for improvement I guess. We stayed at Camp Robbins for 10 days and for what we payed for that time would have only payed for one night at a hotel.

Definitely recommend.

Nice military campground

Nice people. Lots of trees and large spots. It’s also a short walk to the water. Close to several towns including Ft Walton Beach. We are currently at the Family camp and will bounce between the two campgrounds on base

Great stop

Clean bathrooms with decent showers. $1.50 for each laundry machine. Dirt/paved roads, your gear and rig will get muddy or sandy. Great staff, close to commissary and exchange. Fun things to do on base. Department of defense ID is required for entry!

Best campground on the EMERALD COAST

Coming up on our 3rd trip from Northeast Mississippi to Camp Robbins. First trip was in a “seen better days” pop-up. Had a wonderful time even though the pop-up pooped out at departure time. Next trip was in a nicer 30’ late 70’s Coachman. Now we are about to return with a 2018 27’ Jayco Jay Flight. We have always enjoyed Camp Robbins. Having the most beautiful AF Base in the world around you makes it all the more enjoyable. We are so looking forward to this trip as our first time distance with the nicest rig we have had so far.
