Reservations are available at this military-managed FamCamp on Eglin Air Force Base, with nightly rates running $10 to $35 depending on site type. Access requires navigating a rough road to reach the point, so low-clearance vehicles may want to proceed carefully. Sites are waterfront, with direct views over the water, and the camp sits within Eglin AFB property near camping near Niceville. This is one of two established campgrounds on the base itself, with dispersed camping separately available on the Eglin Test Range.
Hookups are water and electric only. No wifi is available on site. The bathhouse includes laundry facilities, and a dump station serves self-contained rigs. Flooding is a documented concern: one long-term visitor noted that rigs should stay on the gravel pads, as the surrounding ground runs soft and low. Pets are allowed, and picnic tables are provided at sites.
Simon M. stayed a full month and found the facilities "well maintained," noting the camp host as a positive presence. Sites are described as spacious, and the waterfront position gives open sightlines toward the bay. Description
Eglin FamCamp at Postl Point is located adjacent to the Outdoor Recreation Center off Flagler Road. The camp has 22 sites with water and electric (50A, 30A, 20A). All sites are pull-through with an asphalt 5MPH road around the park. Each site has parking and a picnic table. Restrooms/showers and a laundry room are also on-site, with 2 washers and 2 dryer.
Eglin is now operating on a reservation-only basis for both long-term and short-term sites. Reservations can be made 120 days in advance for active duty, 90 days for all others; long-term sites require a $100 non-refundable deposit for a maximum stay of 120 days, and short-term sites require a $70 non-refundable deposit for a maximum stay of 14 days. Spaces are available to all personnel authorized to use Outdoor Recreation facilities — active duty, retired military, and DoD civilians. Guests can be sponsored on base and stay in the campground but the sponsor must be present with their guests at all times. The maximum length of stay for sponsored guests is restricted to 14 days, and all sponsored guests must be reported to the FAMCAMP staff.
