Reservations are available at Chassahowitzka River Campground, a privately managed campground in Homosassa, Florida, running $31 to $55 per night with full hookup sites including electric, water, and sewer. The access road can be rough, particularly after heavy rain, so drivers of low-clearance vehicles should plan accordingly. Groceries and supplies are about 10 minutes away at a Publix and Walmart, which makes resupply straightforward for longer stays.
The main draw here is direct water access. A boat and kayak launch sits on a spring-fed section of the Chassahowitzka River, and on-site rentals mean paddlers don't need to haul their own gear. Anglers will find a boat dock on the property. The campground sits in a forested setting, and reviewers consistently describe the grounds as well-kept, with laundry facilities and restrooms noted as adequate.
Campers visiting in summer and early fall should pack mosquito repellent. September visits following rain have drawn reports of heavy bug activity. The campground includes a mix of short-term and long-term residents, the latter with a more lived-in feel, though reviewers describe the overall atmosphere as laid-back and friendly. WiFi, showers, and a dump station round out the facility amenities.
Seven Sisters Campground sits nearby for those comparing river-access options in the area, and there are other places to camp near Homosassa for groups that want to spread across multiple sites. Chassahowitzka River Campground works best for paddlers, anglers, and RV campers who prioritize water access and full hookups over a remote setting.

We allow up to two pets per site with no additional charge. All that we ask is that you email the up to date shot records to chasscamp@gmail.com. Pets will not be permitted without them.
Both the RV camping and primitive camping areas are partially shaded with mature oaks, cedars, pines and palms. The individual RV sites feature fire rings, picnic tables, 30 or 50 amp electrical service, sewer connections, and spigots for potable water. There is a wifi signal broadcast throughout the RV Park. There is a dump station near the entrance to the RV park. The tent or primitive camping area is separate from the RV Park, further to the west. It also features fire rings and picnic tables at each campsite. Our tent sites are completely primitive, therefore there is no electricity at the sites, however we do have 6 communal water spigots for your convenience.
