Awesome park!

A fun state park to visit. The river was over the banks so we couldn’t tune in the river but there was so much to do and see that we didn’t even care. So much history to learn.

Great family RV park

So much to do. The staff instantly delivers customer service the moment you drive in. They drop your boat in water for you and show you to your spot and help you get hooked up. All the staff was so kind and friendly. The pool was amazing!! It has a chiller on it which is a must in south Florida in the summer. So nice and cool it was easy to hang out in it all day. It was easy to get an Uber ride to Key West and the bus stopped real close. The site was big and plenty of room. The entire place was pet friendly. The only “negative” was the sandy mud. Make sure you have a large outside mat so you don’t track the mud in and you are good.

Amazing campground!

Arrived early November and stayed a month. We were in complete shock that Halloween had ended 3 days prior and campers already have their campsites decorated for Christmas! Truly outstanding campground, every person was extremely friendly and outgoing. This was a pure delight for all. We didn’t even have to go to theme park at all because there is so much to do. Definitely need your golf cart here. Don’t worry, they rent golf carts if you don’t have one. Just make sure to reserve far ahead because it books up fast.

Awesome no longer! Update 2022

Update: we were given a pull thru spot by office which is easy to west and therefore no sun relief except at noon. We asked to move to spot by water that goes north to south and were told that none were available how ever there were at least 5 of those spots open every night we were here? The pool is so hot it is unbearable for even the kids to swim. Not to mention the pool is tiny and so full there is no swimming possible. We ordered food at the pool and right as we get it the lady at table two feet away starts changing #2 diaper and bartender just laughs it up with her? I would think that would be an issue? The “beach” is great but bring water shoes as the rocks will tear up your feet. Overall the all new staff was rude, condescending, and screamed at us at the top of her lungs in front of manager who just stood there. We cancelled all of our future reservations to this campground as it is no fun for the kids or adults. And the internet never worked!

We were fortunate to stumble into this campground when they re-opened after rebuilding from the hurricane. Staff was extremely friendly and so helpful. Was a little bummed the “beach” was not truly a beach and was so rocky it was impossible to walk on but overall an excellent value for the $.

Poor maintenance & Not impressed!

Overall poor maintenance in campsites. Ours had safety issues with dock. After pictures and reviews we expected a lot more from this place. Nighttime staff is just plain nasty to guests and doesn’t follow the rules. Daytime staff was excellent. Was told only reason this place has all positive reviews on website is because they don’t post any less than 5. Very dishonest. We live in Florida, regular maintenance prevents rust and dock issues. Came here to relax and unwind and instead we were screamed at like children that were misbehaving badly for sitting at the pool relaxing or walking our dog.
