The Suwannee River Wilderness Trail is a partnership of locations along the river whose purpose is to provide amenities for paddlers. The five River Camps at Dowling Park, Holton Creek, Peacock Slough, Adams Tract, and Woods Ferry are accessible by river only, and are not open to vehicular traffic.  To maintain the wilderness experience, drive-in camping is not available. Many private, state and county locations are also available for overnight stays or restocking supplies.

Adams Tract on the Suwannee River Wilderness Trail is located near the Suwannee River in Florida. The terrain consists of flatlands and riverbanks, providing a natural setting for camping. Nearby attractions include the Suwannee River State Park and the Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park, offering opportunities for hiking and cultural exploration.

Description

State Park

Adams Tract is just a few miles upriver from Troy Spring State Park. It is located within a Suwanee River Water Management District Tract and provides ample hiking trails to explore throughout a longleaf pine community. There are some open, treeless areas of the camp that are ideal for stargazing with the nearest city lights miles away.

From Adams Tract, a 9.3 mile paddle will bring you to Branford.

A welcome retreat in the summer!

There river camps along the Suwannee are about a days paddle apart and very cozy! Tent camping is available but each camp has 5 screen sleeping pavilions as well. All have electric, ceiling fans, corner tables and hooks for hammocks. bathrooms have showers, grills available, large covered pavilion along with picnic tables and fire pits. Camps are for river access only and most have camp host on property that may have ice and firewood available for purchase.
