US Army Corps of Engineers beach nourishment work taking place on the beach north of the Indian River Inlet will begin on Monday, September 15, 2025. Operations will occur 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, through December 2025. The noise from the beach nourishment operation will have an impact on patrons and visitors at North Inlet Campground and Indian River Marina Cottages. As part of the beach nourishment work, the north side beach at Delaware Seashore State Park will close in segments of 1000 feet starting closest to the jetty and progressing northward. Entrance to the North Inlet Campground and Cottage access will not be affected. During project mobilization and demobilization, the North Inlet Day Area parking lot will remain open, but some parking spaces will not be available for use.

The following reservation changes are being implemented as of May 1, 2025. **Primary Occupant Requirement** The Primary Occupant listed on any reservation cannot be changed once a reservation is made and must present a valid ID at check-in. **Reservation Change Freeze** To provide a fair and consistent experience for all campers, an 18-calendar day change freeze will be applied to new reservations beginning May 1, 2025. All changes, including modifying arrival dates or transferring reservations, will not be possible within 18 days of the original booking date. For more information, please visit our website.

Description

The cottages at Indian River Inlet are located on the north shore of the Indian River Inlet inside Delaware Seashore State Park. The park is one of the Mid-Atlantic region's most popular recreational destinations, with a wealth of natural settings and six miles of ocean and bay shoreline. Visitors can enjoy swimming, surf- and deep-sea fishing, surfing, sailing, paddling, hiking, bird watching and much more.

Delaware now requires a fishing license to cover both salt water and fresh water fishing. This includes recreational clamming and crabbing. Use the park entrance at the north end of Indian River Bridge. Follow the road for 1/2 mile and the cottages will be on the left side. Please register at the Marina Office which is another tenth of a mile beyond the cottages.
