Fishing, hiking, and lake access draw campers up to Heart Lake Reservoir, which sits above 10,300 feet in White River National Forest. No amenities exist out here. Coffee Pot Road, a roughly two-hour drive of switchbacks, gets most SUVs to camp without issue, though some years washouts make sections significantly rougher. The area is only accessible a few months each year, and daily afternoon rain is common, so pack accordingly and plan for wet conditions.
