Off gird while on the grid
This campground had an off grid feel to it. There’s not too many people around you and it’s completely dark and quiet at nighttime. There are A LOT of ants though. We had a good time! Wish you could swim
Basically off grid Beautiful
Completely silent. Pitch black at night. No light pollution. Gorgeous stars.
No sewer, water or electric. There is a hand pump for the water spigot. You can fill up with water there, or search for a place to fill up before you come in. Tiny building with a toilet.
Walking distance to the lake. No swimming. Picnic table. Fire ring. Sand and gravel spots.
Our 29’ travel trailer fit great. I recommend taking 24 in. If you come up from the south, there is a large uphill turn that turns into mud when wet. We had to back out 5 miles and take 9 over to 24. Online reservations were booked. But there is no one here. If you want something secluded and off grid, this is your place.
Keep in mind, the road is pretty bumpy coming in. Be prepared to take your time. It’s not dangerous. Just bumpy.
Also, bring your kites. Perfect weather for flying. 😃

Nice spot for a weekend with friends
We enjoyed camping by water with our 22ft trailer. We planned this trip with friends so it was nice to have sites right next to each other but I could see that if you were next to strangers that were rowdy, it could get annoying because the sites are close together.
We booked this site in March to go in July and it was almost booked up so I would suggest planning early to get a reservation. We often free camp but wanted to secure something with a group of people where we knew we could all be together.
Our friends tent camped and we camped with our trailer. The sites were pretty well maintained. We had a lot of glass at our site that nobody cleaned but other than that, it was very well maintained. We had a bathroom nearby and a secure trash receptacle and fresh water. The dirt road getting to our actual site got a ton of washboards from the rain which was really bumpy in the trailer (dislodged a few things) but it wasn't bad and it seems like they maintain them fairly well.
It rained a lot the weekend we were here in July but when the sun did come out it was bugs galore so make sure to bring bug spray.
Though not in the trees, the water was nice, many people were boating and fishing.
No cell service here for us.
We didn't realize we needed to pay for a park pass as well as have the advance registration for the site. You can get the park pass at the office or a self pay station. We paid $18 for 2 days.
