Dry Creek Ditch Camp off Forest Road 90

Dry Creek Ditch Camp is a primitive, dispersed BLM camping area with no formal amenities. There are no water sources, restrooms, trash service, or electrical hookups available. The area offers a flat, open space with natural features like junipers and scenic views. The site can accommodate approximately 5 separate camping groups with adequate space between sites. Campers should come fully prepared with all necessary supplies and plan to pack out all trash.

Dry Creek Ditch Camp is located approximately 9 miles from the center of Montrose, Colorado along Forest Road 90. This BLM dispersed camping area is situated just after a hairpin switchback where you turn left to find a 2-acre mesa with junipers and scenic views. The campground is also positioned right at the start of the RimRocker trailhead, which leads to Moab.

Dry Creek Ditch Camp is approximately 9 miles from the center of Montrose. From there, the South Rim entrance of Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park is about 15 miles east of Montrose, making the total distance roughly 24 miles from the campground to the national park. The route to the campground involves paved roads until the last mile, which is well-maintained gravel.
