La Plata River Views

Van camper perspective: Beautiful campground near Mesa Verde located on the banks of the La Plata creek. The creek is clear and cold but refreshing on a hot day. The campgrounds is located on both sides of CR 124 with 13 sites total. We enjoyed a large riverside campsite at an elevation of 8’800’ with large trees for shade and privacy. The pit toilets were extremely clean. The camp host was informative. Plenty of firewood available and an evening fire helped take the chill off. Parked near the table, on the edge of creek, under a shade tree, doesn’t get much better.

Best campsite this year

Camp host Andrew was awesome, the pit toilets were cleaned Daily never once was there an odor… Shaded spots and full sun spots. Light traffic, heavy on the weekends. 80 daily, 40’s at night. Will be coming back next year.

Absolutely Perfect

In elevation in July we had cool night and picture perfect day. We had #6 and it was the best spot on the end, quiet and peaceful. We motorcycle camped with our tent and by far was our best night of camping. Perfect scenery, and easy to get to.
