Rio Grande National Forest includes this primitive reservoir site outside Creede, where campers find gravel pads, a newer pit toilet, and drinking water. Cell coverage is limited to one bar on Verizon, though the open sky supports Starlink. Cows graze the area and wind can pick up. North Clear Creek lies a few miles southeast, making this a reasonable base for campers who want low-traffic camping near Rio Grande National Forest with dispersed alternatives close by.
Description
This site is a small reservior that is also a natural fishery for Brook Trout. Small boats are allowed but gasoline motors are prohibited, electric motors are OK. The site offers good parking and dispersed camping back away from the shore.
