I loved it.

On a hot weekend, it was great to get out and enjoy the cool air at this elevation. My site was large and the roar of the stream behind kept the sounds of others at bay. That said, I am knocking off a star because there were a ton of 4-wheeler OHV things on the dirt roads and a few in the campground. Some of them were loud. That said, I would definitely go back.

Simple getaway

I have been here a couple times, and both times with my girlfriend, and it’s been quiet during the middle of the week. LOTS OF BEARS! Camp host is really nice and takes cares of the guests if you take care of the land. Gets busy on the weekends as expected.

Large sites with good shade!

We stayed here one night during the week just to escape the Denver heat.

Pros: sites are large and most of them have good privacy/shade. About half the sites are right along the river. The bathroom on site was also cleaner than other campground outhouses.

Cons: the road is rough getting here. There were also a ton of mosquitoes since we were in the trees and by the water.

Also - no cell service for Verizon or T-Mobile

Hidden gem

Hall valley is great! Although there are only a few campsites most of them are pretty great. Most have a ton of tree cover and pretty good privacy. It is first come first serve but hand car cg is right down the road and there are a lot of dispersed campsites farther up the road. Need a high clearance 4wd if you go past hall valley cg and to get to hall valley really. We always see moose in the morning here. Great open field for activities as well. Bathroom is adequate.

Beautiful sites on a river

Great sites, spaced out nicely. Road can be rough right at the end. Will need a high clearance vehicle. No fish in the river due to mine contamination. Lots of free dispersed camping a little further up the road.
