Cheap and easy to get to from the highway

This is a no-frills stop off on a road trip kind of place. The bathrooms were pretty gross and there are lights on all night so hopefully you have a blackout tent or good shades on your RV. It's nothing to write home about but it was quiet and I slept well. I would stay again

It's a KOA, so know what you are getting

I had a tent site and it wasn't bad. The site next to me was blasting music but turned it off around 8 so I won't dock points. The bathrooms were clean and it was easy to get to from the highway. There was a lot of road noise though. The tent platform was level and clean. I would stay again.

Beautiful spot

In the middle of the woods vibe. The sites had good privacy and it was just a pretty area. Neighbors were respectful and relatively quiet.. There was zero cell service at this campground. Bathrooms were clean.

Dog poop in the site and loud neighbors

I was not a fan. I was tenting and there was not a great spot for the tent and there was dog poop everywhere (tracked some in the tent when setting up so I wasn't pleased). Also a bunch of large Widowmakers in the trees above was nerve-wracking. The people around me were LOUD! One dude listening to a college football game until past 10 and a guy and his kid playing glow Frisbee right in from of my tent past 10 as well. As I was on a road trip and wanted to get to sleep, this was not appreciated.. On th e good side, the bathrooms were very clean. I would NOT stay here again

Beautiful

Stayed on a Thursday night 9/12 and there were hardly any people there. It was a beautiful spot but quite exposed so expect some wind.. I would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful and well spaced sites

This is a review for the actual campground. As another review mentioned, there are dispersed sites up the road and many are nice but I stayed at the campground. There is a stream on one side of the campground and most of the sites are on that side of the loop. The sound is wonderful to sleep to. On the other side of the loop is where I stayed because the view was incredible. The camp host was great, everything was clean and well cared for and there was plenty of space between the sites so it didn't feel cramped. This is a first come first served campground.

I loved it.

On a hot weekend, it was great to get out and enjoy the cool air at this elevation. My site was large and the roar of the stream behind kept the sounds of others at bay. That said, I am knocking off a star because there were a ton of 4-wheeler OHV things on the dirt roads and a few in the campground. Some of them were loud. That said, I would definitely go back.

Not a great place to tent

The Good: Had a great spot for lake access and was able to teach my pup to ride the SUP. It was a pretty view and, in general, I had a good time.

The Bad: Sites here aren't really great for tents and seems more geared towards campers. The place is very exposed to wind as there are very few trees. Shade? Forget it unless you bring your own. There were people flying drones (not a fan of that) and riding dirt bikes (motorcycles) until 9:30pm. Meanwhile, the hum of generators from the campers would break the peace every morning until they got back in their dirt bikes to head out again. To be fair, it wasn't constant but I wouldn't call this a peaceful place on the weekends.

Would I go back? No. That said, if you have a camper or are going during the week, it may be worth checking out.

Small but nice. Great for foliage!

I enjoyed the campground but most of the sites are pitched so finding a place for your tent can be a challenge in some of the sites. We were in a site 3 and had a great time. Also, there is great access to trails for hiking.

Quiet!

I arrived on a Saturday morning and only two other spots were taken. It was a beautiful area although there isn't a ton to do there. There are large fields on one side with herds of cows and a view off of the other side. A great place to go when everywhere else is busy!

I loved it but prepare yourself for a lot of biting insects

I came here for one night (a Saturday) and there were plenty of spots available for first come first serve. That said, it is an 18 mile long dirt road to get in so it would stink to get there and not find a spot. I would reserve if possible. The camping spots were clean and the toilets were in good shape. Prepare yourself for a lot of biting insects so I would bring a screen house if you are staying for more than one night. The lake was gorgeous!
