Favorite place near Jefferson Lake

Aspen campground is our favorite place to stay when visiting Jefferson Lake. It's a smaller loop and relatively quiet.

Facilities include pit toilets and a water station. Campground host usually stays in the Lodgepole loop, but will drive thru during busy season... I've never seen a host in late October.

We enjoy the sites just on the right back loop as you enter, especially if you have a group of families. Then you have lots of space for the kids and dogs to run around.

The lake is beautiful and we love going on our SUP. The water is a little chilly for swimming, plus there are usually a lot of people fishing, so just get on your board and away from the shore.

This is a perfect location for a weekend getaway with the family and friends.

A Favorite Spot

This was our 2nd time camping in Aspen and we just love it! This time the camp host was absent for most of our visit due to a family emergency, but we were still well taken care of by the camp hosts from Lodgepole and other staff in the area. There is so much to explore! The hiking options are endless and the lake is beautiful! Nights are very cold at the end of may...dress warmly! My girls love exploring the Meadow and the woods nearby. We will definitely return!
