Within Rio Grande National Forest, Big Springs Campground provides forest service camping in a wooded setting. This established campground sits under forest cover, managed by the US Forest Service as part of the broader national forest system.
The forested terrain offers natural shade and a woodland atmosphere for visitors exploring this section of Colorado's high country. Campers can access other forest service sites including Carnero Guard Station and Upper Crossing Guard Station within the same area. The campground works well for those seeking a forest service experience in the Rio Grande National Forest region.
