Description
Perched atop a broad, open hilltop inside Stanislaus National Forest near Strawberry, this dispersed area sits among large pines with sweeping views and reliable cell signal — a notably better perch than the pullouts closer to the road. Coarse gravel levels the surface and a fire ring is the only amenity; most 2WD vehicles handle the short dirt access road without trouble, though the final pitch up to the hilltop rewards patience and modest ground clearance. The area closes seasonally in mid-December and reopens in spring, and burn permits are required before lighting a fire.
