Nice spot, easy to get on the bus to explore the park and there’s a camp store. Heads up though- showers are closed (as of July 2021). Flush toilets and drinking water.
I like lodgepole campground for the summer because elevation is high enough it does not get too warm and Hume lake is a short drive to some great trout fishing.
Booked this site at the last minute. Given more time I'd choose a different site as this challenging to back into with our 26 foot travel trailer, site was right next to the bathroom, and sites in this section are pretty close together. On the plus side it was clean and well tended by camp…
So first off I want to say HOW CLEAN THE GROUNDS WHERE. The bathrooms where super clean at all times, however, in the morning the restrooms smelled god awful. I’m guessing they put something in there when they clean to deodorize them, come morning I wouldn’t advise using it. That is not anyone’s…
Beautiful, large campsites. First come, first serve. Friendly campground hosts. Costs have gone up to $25 a night. The Vault toilets and bathrooms were clean and well maintained. We stayed in site number 5 and we had friends/family staying in campsites 4 & 6 and it was perfect and large area…

Great campsite good spacing between other campsites. Loved being tucked away with the huge trees all around us and a short drive to Hume lake. We come here every time we are in Kings Canyon

Traveled from Las Vegas to this hidden gem. Great place for relaxation by the lake or taking a hike. Great place for dogs. Will be coming back since Yosemite national park is only an hour or so away.

Great small campground next to a small lake. Nice campsites, pit toilets. Overall pretty good, but we did come across several small rattle snakes.
Love it here, can't wait to return!
We stayed at drive thru site 103 which is a medium size site with PLENTY of space. It was fairly level and we had electric hook-ups for 30 & 50 amp service. The water spigot was a little ways away so we filled up on our way in. We were situated across the…
The campground was really spacious and well kept but just know if you show up you NEED. A reservation. We misread some signs and started setting up in a reserved spot. Thankfully the camp host was able to help us out, and we ended up being able to stay in another spot. The bathrooms are a little…
The tent camping sites were pretty small. Beautiful, but our site was pretty far away from the bathroom, water, and creek.
Great spot! Spent 2 weeks here (not consecutively) and it was the cheapest with the most amenities in the area. Closest to service. Best restrooms, beautiful trees, protection from the wind, biggest sites, etc.
Onion Valley is a beautiful spot tucked into the eastern Sierra above Independence. It’s a windy but not long drive back down to town.
The sites were comfortable. We had a walk in site but it wasn’t too far from the parking lot. The bathrooms impressively clean. We could see a lot of the other…
Very roomy sites in a beautiful location. I believe I had site 103 and it was spacious with a great view for star gazing, highly recommend!
