Perched on a hillside above Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, this full-hookup RV park gives campers direct sightlines over the Pacific Ocean from most of its tiered sites. The layout climbs steadily uphill from the entrance, where a convenience store doubles as a check-in point. Sites are close together, and at full capacity the park feels compressed, though weekday arrivals typically find the grounds much less crowded. Upper-level spots with ocean-facing positions fill fastest, and Abby T. notes that "even the ones listed as 'no view' have a view."
RV sites accommodate rigs up to 65 feet and include electric, water, and sewer hookups. Tent campers should know that their sites, located at the top of the campground, have no electrical hookups, and gear must be carried in, though the park provides wheelbarrows. Wood fires are not permitted; propane fires are. Bathrooms are code-locked and kept clean, though the upper-level shower stalls lack locking doors. A laundry facility, dump station, propane fill, and WiFi round out the amenities.
Beach access requires some effort. PCH runs between the park and the water, and reaching the shore means either walking roughly two football fields to a crosswalk or navigating traffic on a heavily used road. That tradeoff is real, and Tyler D. puts it plainly: he'd recommend the park to those who "have to be on the Malibu coast with full hookups," but suggests state parks down the road for others. A short dog-walking trail exists on the property, though it can become muddy in wet weather.
Rates run $80 to $300 per night depending on site type and season. Reservations are available and advisable, particularly for weekend stays or holiday weekends when the park fills quickly. Pets are allowed. Cell service has come up as inconsistent in a handful of reviews, so campers relying on connectivity should account for that. Malibu Creek State Park Campground, a few miles inland, is a common alternative for those wanting a more traditional camping setting with greater separation between sites.
