Not worth the noise

Our small group camped at the Lake Sonoma Marina campground and had a very spotty experience. There was no warning in their confirmation emails or website that there is NO WATER available at the campsite. Even the restrooms down at the marina state that the water from the taps is non-potable. You have to bring all of your water with you.

The portapotties were ok. Nothing great but nothing terrible.

The campground seems well maintained with the grass recently cut and poison oak only visible in small areas. The ground is not very flat so it was hard to find a great site for a tent.

The biggest problem was Saturday night when a large group came and took over two adjacent campsites. They brought lights and loud music with them and the lights and loud music stayed on until after midnight. This group finally turned off the speakers but continued shouting and screaming until 4 am.

There is NO NOISE CONTROL and no attempt to enforce campground rules. There is no one patrolling the campsite and no one to call at midnight to request help to stop the noise. Don't bother staying here overnight. Come for the day to the enjoy the lake but go home and get a good night's sleep after.

Great location - 0 noise inforcement

My dog and I loved adventuring around the area and lake. Our site #10 was solid. Trash can near buy. No water, and porty only unless you go down to the marina. This is a small campground and there was zero individuals around to help you. The number of campers/cars per site was unlimited…leading to multiple large parties. The quiet hours were posted on the website, and at the entrance to the campground. When the music playing via a car stereo doesn’t stop till 2am it’s exhausting to not be able to sleep after a day of hiking and the lake. Others stayed up till after 4am with no consideration given to other campers. If you want to party camp go here, if you want a quiet, self aware, kind camping community go elsewhere.

Small with great views

Stumbled upon this place while out exploring. Really great views. Great sites. Can purchase firewood and provisions (if needed) from the Marina Store.

Open grounds with a great view

For us this campground felt a bit more exposed to neighbors than we typically prefer though it’s sort of expected since the grounds are at the top of a hill. However, the view from site 2 over the lake was pretty. Porta potty and no showers, but a quiet night rest with lots of stars and a gorgeous drive in through a valley of vineyards

Great views of Lake Sonoma

The other campground near the lake is quite a bit further drive from the actual lake. This one is closest and parking at the marina is included with the camp slip. There’s a couple port a potties and the owners come around and pick up trash every day, no dumpsters. Pretty small campground, I’ve seen tents, pop ups and travel trailers there. Some of the sites are more secluded but a couple are great if you have a group of 10 or so. Some have beautiful views of the lake and hills. They have a new online reservation system which is amazing because booking over the phone was a nightmare.
